"I can't believe I got to fistbump Jango Fett!!" Our awesome 3 year anniversary trip!

I'm heading off to bed myself and I'll come back with a 'proper post' but I just wanted to congratulate you :worship::worship: on staying up until 3am! Seriously! How many people were still there when you left?

Not that many, truthfully. And if they were there, they were waiting in line for Space Mountain - the line was still posting a 50 minute wait at 2:30 in the morning! We probably saw about 200 people walking around, tops. It really was empty, considering MK can hold somewhere around 70,000 people, I think?

Love the pictures, especially of you and Eeyore! Also, I'm jealous of your hair. It's such a cute cut.

I love late night at MK. In 2007 the park was open till 2 the first night we got there, but I think we made it till 1:30 and were about ready to drop and headed back. But it was very empty when we left. Barely anyone around and almost everything was walk on. We did alot of rides that night.

Wow....I can't wait for evening EMH at the Magic Kingdom. That tour sounds like a lot of fun too!

Day 5 – Animal Kingdom Day!

After sleeping in (I think we slept until 11 or so?), we got ready, and headed to Animal Kingdom. By this point in the trip, my feet were killing me from wearing my worn-down Crocs for 5 days in a row, and we were doing so much walking that it hurt… so I spent a lot of today sitting on benches while Lou took photos of birds on the forest trail and the jungle trek, haha.

However, we did do a few things, like Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, and Rafiki’s Planet Watch, which we didn’t do last time. I think we did Dinosaur too. I vaguely remember really annoying kids who tried to cut us in line, since the line is so wide at first. We still didn’t see Festival of the Lion King, which was depressing, but I definitely will have a chance to see it now, so that’s fine. :) We saw the parade as well, although not by choice.. we wanted to cross the parade route, but got stuck right as it started.

Here are some pictures (I didn’t take many):

Rafiki’s... at Rafiki's, I was standing by the mural at the opening, while Lou was going to the bathroom, and I heard a new cast member being trained (or just cast members talking), and one of them was showing the other one Hidden Mickeys in the mural. There are SOOOOO many! I was trying to find a bunch that they pointed out, and then found more on my own. If you ever want to kill some time, do this! I bet you'll find loads. Like.. there's an owl right towards the bottom at the back? Look at its eyes. I wish I took photos of them.. it was amazing how many they put in!

For some reason, Lou took a picture of a squirrel….

For lunch, we went to the Flame Tree BBQ again, and it was delicious. I’m sad it’s going to be closed while we’re there this trip… oh well. For dinner, went to Yak & Yeti. I think it was just our waiter, but I really didn’t like it. The food was good, but he was so annoying that I didn’t enjoy it that much. He talked down to us, even though I said I understood how the Dining Plan worked, since this was our last meal, and I was going to be a Cast Member in three months, I got it, he still took 5 minutes explaining it to us. And then he took my Key to the World card for the whole meal! I was not very happy about that, and checked over my charges very carefully the next day. No one else had ever taken the card before we even ordered. He just stuck it in his little waiter belt thing... it could have fallen out, all sorts of things could go wrong there. I was not pleased.

We decided to make it a sort of early night, even though AK was open until 10 or something like that. Today was our anniversary, so we waited until 6:57, standing on the bridge headed to Discovery Island, and wished each other a happy anniversary, which made up for that stupid waiter.

After that, I went to the Photopass store at the front of the park, and bought a few of the photos from when MK was empty the day before. They turned out nice, and I got a free photo of Everest or something like that included with the package I got.

We decided to visit the Animal Kingdom Lodge, since it is basically right next door, and it was still early. Lou really liked it! We got to stroll a bit around, and saw these giant birds fighting – it looks like they were yelling at each other, haha.

100_3676.jpg

Then we sat in the lobby for a bit, and just relaxed, before catching a bus back to Animal Kingdom, and then back to All Star Music, where we packed up, and I called to request a pick-up for our luggage the next morning. Apparently the system froze when I called, and so after it rebooted, the Cast Member said she put it in again, and it went through… but… that was not the case, as we found out the next morning.

We went to bed pretty early this night, because we still had part of tomorrow left in Disney!

Day 6 – Our last day! Magic Kingdom/Epcot

This was our last day, and like always, we decide to do two parks on the day we have the least time! Haha. However, first I had to call the luggage people, because our order for a luggage pickup never went through. They came pretty quickly, while Lou went to check out and get an itemized list (to make sure the waiter from the other night didn’t use our card for anything, which he didn’t… but I was worried).

First, we went to Magic Kingdom, and got Fastpasses for Space Mountain, to ride it a little later. After that, we did the Tomorrowland Speedway, since there was basically no line.

100_3688.jpg

It was Extra Magic Hour, so we still had about 30 minutes until the rest of the park opened... we waited by the Fantasyland entrance to Liberty Square, so we could go ride Big Thunder Mountain as soon as it opened. We were pretty close to being the first train to go (I forget what train we were exactly, but it was in the first 4, I’d say.)

100_3697.jpg

Then we went to press pennies, because I love them… haha.

100_3716.jpg

We still had plenty of time, so we rode the Walt Disney World Railroad around the park, and back to Frontierland. I hadn’t done this for a long time, so I forgot how cool it was – it was fun! There were all these scenes dispersed throughout the track, which was neat.

100_3719.jpg

Then we went through Frontierland, and Lou did his shooting game (I love how it’s only a dollar!)

100_3732.jpg

We bought some (well, I bought some) pins at the Trading Post, and then it was time to get to Space Mountain to use our Fastpasses!

Only one problem… Space Mountain broke. We had a lot of trouble with the mountains this trip, didn’t we? So.. that stunk. But then we ran into an old friend as we trudged away…. I heard the squeaky voice, freaked out, and ran over… it was none other than.. PUSH! Love him.

He was talking to a kid with a pin lanyard, asking if he liked to trade pins, and would he like to trade pins with him? The kid said sure, so PUSH says “okay, wait one moment. Hey, miss! You there! Can I see your bag?” So I was like “Sure PUSH!” and put it on top of him.

100_3737.jpg

He then motors away with my bag, and tries to trade it to the kid. Then he tries to sell it for 5$, and then says, “Well, I guess I’ll go open my goody bag and see what I got!” I meanwhile, am following him as he putts away, laughing helplessly… he finally gives it back, but I got plenty of photos, and I wanted so badly to see him, so I was very happy. :)

Lou got a hot fudge sundae (keep in mind, at 10:30 in the morning), and we started heading over to Epcot, so we could go on the Behind the Seeds tour!

We decided to go on the 12:30 (I think it was the 12:30, at least… maybe it was the 12.) tour, so we grabbed lunch at Sunshine Seasons again, which was delicious, again. We might have gone on a ride or two as well, but I forget.

Then it was time for our tour. They’re not very big tours, probably at most 10-15 people, but on our tour, it was…. the 2 of us. Haha. It was actually pretty cool, because that meant I could take as many photos as I wanted, and I wasn’t holding anyone up. We also got a whole bag of Mickey cucumbers to ourselves, and although I don’t like cucumbers, everything tastes better when it’s shaped like Mickey.

100_3747.jpg

We got to set free some ladybugs:

100_3761.jpg

This is some crazy fruit, I forget what it’s called, but it is supposed to be like a sweet grapefruit… it’s sold in Asian markets, I believe? It was heavy! A pomelo (aka pummelo). I just remembered.

100_3768.jpg

There were a lot of Mickey shaped veggies.

100_3772.jpg

Our tour guide was very nice, and I felt bad it was just the two of us, but she was great at explaining everything, and chatting about her job, since she’s a Professional Intern, which is like a step above College Programmer.

One of the projects they work on is Mickey Mini Gardens, which are like little clippings that grow into full plants – they have a whole bunch of them, and a book about what grows well in what area. I got a vanilla plant, and hopefully my mom will take care of it while I’m gone – it’s growing very nicely in my window, and it’s still in its little test tube, but I’ll need to transplant it soon. It was less than 10 dollars, and they have everything from vanilla to redwood trees – how cool is that?

Then we went to the World Showcase, I got a frog bowl for a family friend in Japan, and we got some snacks, I believe.. in Norway, maybe? Or did we get another mousse? I don’t remember, but we did something.

Then it was time to head to the airport…

100_3802.jpg

Thus, our trip ended, but I knew I’d be back in fewer than 3 months.. and that time is almost here! So I’m glad I finished this… haha. I didn’t have much time left.

If the mods could keep this open for at least two weeks, I can keep you guys updated on where I end up being located at Disney! I have a blog that I’ll start posting on soon, so maybe I can post the updates there and here for a bit.

Thank you for following, sorry it took me so long to finish what was only a 6 day vacation, haha. But it beats out the 6 month trip report from last August!

:teeth:

Is there a problem with that? :rotfl:

Can't wait to read about your experiences with the CP! I'm sure you'll have an awesome time and be a magical CM.

Hey, good things are worth the wait. Thanks for sharing the rest of your trip!

I'm still working on the scrapbook from my last trip. And that was almost a yr ago. (time sure does fly...)

I was starting a reply and then my internet zonked out on me and I lost it. :headache: Then I wondered what the heck I'd missed because I hadn't heard about a sketchy waiter.... I got behind again. Doh!

AK -- 11am?? You do a 'sleeper-inner' proud! I haven't been to Rafiki's yet, we go on the train but then just stay on for the train ride.

Nice safari pics! The squirrel is cute. From a reasonable distance anyway.

What a shame about Yak & Yeti. The CMs are such a big part of great experiences, it's too bad you got a crappy one. Awwwww, how sweet was your anniversary moment! puckerup:

Hahaha, poor bird in the middle of the screaming match at AKL!

Alright now onto MK.... Push! How great is he? Look at the face of the boy with the pins! And your bag.... :lmao: !!

Love the Mickey cucumbers and I have to remember to get one of those vanilla plants. Do they travel easy?

Can't wait to see your new posts!!!!

Lou got a hot fudge sundae (keep in mind, at 10:30 in the morning),

LOL!

I've heard of pomelos, but hadn't seen one before. It's bigger than I thought.

Hey Girlie...just got all caught up on your TR. We did a lot of the same things as you & Lou except on different days. We were also some of the crazy people who stayed at MK till 3 am. I love being there that late, you can walk on most of the rides and you feel like you have the park to yourself. :cloud9:

Anyway, just a few more days till you leave, I know you're so excited!!! Good luck with the move and keep us posted! :goodvibes

Great wrap up. Soounds like you guys really had a good time. You gave me alot of new ideas too!

So I got my assignment... I will be working at... Space Mountain!!!!!!!

That's what I really wanted, so I'm really excited. I start training on the ride tomorrow, before this was training for Disney World and then Tomorrowland.. I'm slowly specializing.

How is everything going so far with the CP? Is it like you imagined it would be?

Would love to hear more about your adventures with the CP, if you want to share. :)

Yipee!!!! I'm so frickin excited for you! :cool1::cool1:

I'm going again in January - 20th to the 23rd. Just me meeting up with six other moms with children on the autism spectrum. We're staying at AKL!!! More details in my siggie if you get a chance to check in... otherwise I'll tell you more in November!

Haha, I've barely started working - today was my first day of training. Everything before this was moving in and learning about WDW and Magic Kingdom (although I knew most of it, so it wasn't really learning for me.)

I will definitely keep you updated though!

Cool! I won't be here then, but that sounds like an awesome trip!

Wow.....can't believe it took me this long to finally finish your TR. I wanna hear about your most recent trip! It's too bad we didn't meet up in the end
