I live in New York...nothing real interesting about that I have a trip planned for late Sept early Oct. But I have been feeling the Disney call.....I just booked a plane ticket for this weekend, used Starwoods points to stay at the Swan and I am going to Disney World...I am leaving friday after work returning Sunday late at night. I think I have lost it.:scared1:

So
I decided to go to Disney World for the weekend...well what actually happened is I have been reading trip reports from other Dissers-Glendamax, klofan, ZZUB, Montana Fan....just to name a few, and I really started feeling the call to Disney. Well after finishing Glendamax solo report, I was checking my email and the thought went through my mind, "hey I have enough Starwoods points to stay at the Swan or Dolphin", and just for fun I went to Southwest, they were having a web special,"What, WHAT WHAT??? I could go to Disney this weekend for less then 300.00 dollars....I think I am going to go....And that is how it happened and yes I realize I am a little crazy for talking to myself:lmao: So I called, booked the Swan, bought an Airplane ticket, posted on Pay it Forward and I am on my way Friday after work

Plese keep in mind that I live in Albany NY, where it was 17 degrees yesterday morning and we had sleet and snow so that might have helped make my decision.

The other GREAT thing was I had upgraded my ticket after my stay last April from a 6 day to a 10 day so I even have my ticket.

A quick stop tonight at Friend's of the library to pick up plane trip reading material and the packing of my back pack...
and one more day of work:headache: and I will be on my way to DISNEY:cheer2:

Congrats on booking your weekend getaway! Also, I can totally relate as to the fabulous trip reports increasing the Disney desire to epic proportions! It's awesome that you'll be able to get your Disney fix sooner than originally planned. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the post it is nice to know someone else is A. Reading my post and B doesn't think I am a complete lunatic for doing this.

Now I am jealous~~~ We have a trip for August, but I do wish I would be going to Disney this weekend! Have a magical trip!:goodvibes

wow when you book your Disney trip last minute your pretrip is really short :) This is probabaly a good thing for me.

So last night on the way home from work, I stopped at the Friend's of the library bookstore and picked up four books for one Dollar each!! SCORE!!

I went home ate a lean Cuisine and got down to the serious business of packing for DISNEY.

I made the decision to just take my back pack, this was very hard for me as I am the ultimate over packer but I though I am only going to be there for Saturday and Sunday...I can do this!

Here is what I came up with- I packed two shirts, 1 set of PJ's, 3 pairs of socks, in case one pair gets wet, undergarments and 1 pair of Capri’s, yes I am going to wear BOTH days:scared1: Montana fan gave me this idea see his trip report for a great laugh, I would link to it if I had any clue how to...Once I had all of the clothes pulled out I made another big decision NO makeup, OK so it really was not a hard decision, I did pull out the necessities tooth brush/paste, deodorant, which I am sure all people in line around me will appreciate  and SUNBLOCK. Fair skin girl here!!! It all fit in my back pack with room to spare. I added my books, a hat, 2 packages of instant oatmeal, two pears and 2 bags of 100 calorie Honey grahams.

I kept thinking I know I am forgetting something and I must have walked through the house a dozen times going what am I forgetting:confused:  ….On the way out the door this morning I realized the camera:confused3 ….how can I post pics for my fellow Dissers if I do not have a Camera???? Well I went running back in and not to worry I have it!!!Now if I just remember to use it:rolleyes1

At lunch I am going to hit the dollar store for Glow sticks and I will be set!!!

The only down side is we are suppose to have a sleet and ice storm this afternoon so I am starting to worry about my flight but I will NOT let this get me down because I am going to Disney World!!:yay:

Hey RockinDisney! :wave2:

Great pre-trip report! That's awesome that you were able to book a WDW trip on such short notice. :thumbsup2 Please tell us about your trip when you come back. I hope you have a great time at WDW! :wizard:

Hope you had a great weekend. I am going to move you over to our regular board and I hope you let us know how your weekend went.

I am back WHO HOO, Of course then I had to catch up on work that I might have put off because I was excited about my trip:rolleyes1 I will be putting in a full trip report and then add the link to the bottom of my signature. Thanks all of you for taking the time to read my pre trip!!!!!:cheer2:

How exciting you could go at the last minute :lovestruc

Arrival Date- As anyone who read my pretrip report knows, and if you did not read my pretrip shame on you it was all of two paragraphs, I did the craziest thing I have ever done and took off to Disney for the weekend. The down side was we had a bad storm and my flight was delayed so instead of arriving in Orlando at 10:00pm Friday, I got there at 11:00pm, picked up my rental Car from Avis, RIGHT AT THE AIRPORT, I used Hotwire for this and could not have been more happy. Drove to the SWAN and checked in. Because I used points and am a Gold Member what ever that means I was bumped to a room with a Balcony....Now once I figure out how to load pics I will put up Pics of my room and view!!!

Next installment-
BEST TRIP EVER

Day one- MGM or the Hollywood Studios or what ever we are calling it these days had early opening so that is where I headed first.

I got up jumped in the shower and was out the door in under a half hour…NO MAKE UP and hair in a ponytail…life is GOOD:cool1: - I jumped in to my rental car and was parked at MGM in under 15 minutes. I walked to the entrance, while the suckers waited for the tram…HINT for all of you travelers- I have found that a lot of times it is faster to walk to the front of the parks as opposed to waiting for the tram. In this case I looked back and the tram had not even picked up the group I would have been riding with…hehehehe:rotfl:

Made it through bag search and was in the park in around 5 minutes. I missed the rope drop by about 10 minutes. I of course started at TOT. This is one of my favorite rides. I rode it twice and then went on to RRC. I waited in line for 10 minutes only to find out when I was at the front of the line there was a single rider line… WHAT??? So then I rode it twice more doing the single rider line and never waiting more then 2 minutes….That’s right I am an adrenaline junky and proud of it:banana: !!! By this time my tummy is growling and I decided to grab breakfast.

Pausing for a commercial Break- I decided on this trip to buy all of my food- why you might ask or you might not….For those of you who are not aware I am returning in late Sept early Oct with my best friend and her son soooo I wanted to try to figure out if the Dining plan was a good deal or not for me.

Now back to our regularly scheduled trip report…. As I was saying my tummy was starting to growl so I decided to grab breakfast on my way out of the park….That is right…I was leaving the park!! I stopped at Starring Rolls Café and had a Cream Cheese Bagel and a large bottle of water for the bargain price of 4.39, and if I ever figure out how to load pics I will add pics of my NUTRIONAL breakfast:rolleyes: … or at least yummy breakfast:upsidedow …I jumped on the tram because it was pulling in as I was walking out, hey I’m not crazy, and jumped in my car and headed to the Animal kingdom-

That’s right sports fans- I headed to the park everyone hates, and I had a BLAST……Stay tuned :happytv:
