I made a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table a few weeks ago. It was going to be for just my Grandmother and me. My sister decided yesterday that she wants to come to Disney with us, so I tried calling this morning to add her to the existing reservation, and they won't let me??:confused3 Is that right?

There were no more reservations for the entire time we will be there, so I wanted yalls opinions (as DISers :worship:) what you think would be better, keep the existing reservation and still just go with my grams (it is the princesses in the CASTLE after all!! princess:) or book over at Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway? Which do yall think is better?

Kind of along with that, we already have another character meal at Garden Grill later on in the week, so I wanted to do a different park for some variety. (But they said we had to have 2 seperate tables for this one!)

I didnt know ONE person could make such a difference! I wanted to keep our dining in the actual parks because we will be staying off resort and are only there for 4 days.

Thanks so much yall!

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED. THANKS YALL!

I would keep the original reservation but keep calling each day to see if a cancellation has occurred in order to accomodate your sister.

Restaurants have tables for 2, 4, 6, 8 etc, but not for 3. Since your original ressie sounds like it is for 2, you are probably at a table for 2, if all the 4 tops are booked then adding a 3 to you're table won't work.

Keep trying the online booking system - you can try that a zillion times a day and you're not inconveniencing anyone!

Also Norway is a great place to eat if you're interested in seeing the princesses - but if you're looking specifically for the castle ambiance stick with your original reservation.

If you're really looking forward to CRT (we had dinner there in 2008 and loved it), I would definitely keep the ressie and keep calling. Every day. Even multiple times per day (a cancellation may be made in the morning, late afternoon, early evening, etc). Hopefully you'll eventually be able to get sis included but, if not, next time she'll join the party a little earlier won't she? :thumbsup2

My philosophy may be wrong.

Just walk in with the three of you. They will accomodate you. Remeber they want to make this magical for you. :thumbsup2

I will try the online.. My main thing is the Princesses... I want to see them! And with a husband and small stepson and grandpa going, the only time I could do this is with my grandma! And its the CASTLE!!!! lol its every girls dream! I also already have an Epcot dining, and I dont know if I want 2 character dinings there... Im so indecisive!

lol well she is stationed overseas with her husband, and he got short notice training orders last week for January, and she decided she is going to come home for that month too so she is not overseas alone.

I wonder if I could ACTUALLY do this.. but then what happens when they say no? AND the dining the castle, had to be paid for at booking... so what then?

But they cant magically make a table appear. It's a scheduled meal. They have x # of tables. If they are all booked, they really cant just add a table. You could still walk up with 3 and see if the pixie dust flies, BUT I would go in with the idea that the 3rd person may not be eating with you. This is also further complicated IF your reservation is for before the park opens. At that point they should be checking your name and they will only allow 2 people in, so you wouldnt be able to just walk up with the 3rd. If it's after park opening, and if you cant get an opening online / thru reservations all you can do is hope / try.

For trying online, if I don't really care what time it is for, when I put the time in, will it check all times for me, or just the ones around it?

I knew my philosophy would meet resistance. We just returned from disney where the booking agent made a table for four. Not the table of ten that we really needed. It was not CRT but they did accomodate us. Which I appreciated very much. I only suggest it is worth a try. When you check in ask. If they say no, they say no. Tell your sister to enjoy Pinochios haus and we'll see you shortly. P.S. (That was just a joke).

And there's the difference. The location, situation, and conditions were different in your experience compared to what the OP is seeking. Several posters have already explained pretty clearly why this suggestion would likely NOT work for a CRT reservation. I'll throw in one more. Because it's prepaid and there's a penalty for not cancelling at least X hours before one's reservation, it's extremely unlikely that anybody with a reservation is just going to be a no-show. Therefore, chances of walking in with an extra person and getting seat are negligible.

What happens if they don't? You can't make a table for 3 appear when you don't have one. Just think if you were supposed to get the table that they ended up getting. How would you feel?

I would continue to call and check and look around online. GL:goodvibes

YAYAY!!! so thank you to everyone for all their ideas and suggestions, esepcially looking online. I did that and called in and got a reservation for 3 on a different day and time! (I think the original CM was only looking at the certain time and day :headache:)

I paid the difference and now have a reservation for all of us ADULT girls at a princess lunch! lol

Thanks yall!!
