Why oh why when I try to read Disboards on my phone, it forces open the app store to download some game. This is very annoying.

Does anyone know how to make it stop?

Happens to me too, but I have a touch screen and it only happens when I'm scrolling and if I touch the Uber app ad while I'm scrolling, it will force open the app store.

It's a mobile ad on the page. One thing that helps is to let the page load before you try to scroll. Also, you can quit the app store as soon as it starts to open and go back to your browser.

The problem I'm having is with those Google Doubleclick ads at the bottoms of threads. On my phone/tablet the keyboard is over them, and sometimes I click on one by mistake and it takes me to another thread instead of letting me finish my response I'm typing. I know why it's happening, but it's very frustrating.

I NEVER use the DIS app, when possible, on any of my phones or tablet. What I do is open my browser, (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.) I open any webpage like the Google Search page. Then go to the browser's Settings (not cellphone's Settings) and click on "Request DESKTOP SITE" or something worded similar to that, depending on your browser.) Then I click on my bookmark for the DIS. And it will bring up the same webpage you would see on your computer instead of the mobile version.

I actually do this for most of the webpages I surf on my phone. I hate that there is missing stuff on the mobile pages. I prefer to see what I see at home on my computer.

You can also try going directly to the DIS instead of the Google Search page. But, since you are having problems accessing the DIS, go to Google Search first.

Also, try clearing your Internet cookies first.

never had a problem with on my mobile device. probably cuz i do have a adblocker on my iPhone.

iOS9 will have the feature so just hold on for just a little bit longer!

Wasn't the DIS app discontinued when they moved to the new forum software? I think the OP is saying they did open the site in a browser on their phone, and doing so somehow force-opened their phone's app store (whether it's the Apple App Store, or Google Play, etc).

The site I see on my cellphone when I load the DIS in Chrome is the full website. If I have my phone in portrait orientation, then some things are not visible, but if I hold it in landscape orientation, it's the same site as looking at it on my computer. It isn't a completely different interface for mobile like it is for other companies where it is a mobile site with a m.southwest.com type address (just using SW as an example)

Some browsers will automatically open the mobile version, if there is one, even if there is no actual app. I think the DIS has something like that. I do notice that more stuff reappears when I click on"Request Desktop Site." I use Firefox mostly.

I understand that - that's what southwest's site does. But when it does that, the address is different. It's no lonher, for ex, www.southwest.com, but m.southwest.com. the DIS site doesn't do that. The address remains www.disboards.com.

I remember them talking about this when the new forums came out. This software is optimized for mobile, so it displays easily on cellphones, but it doesn't actually take you to a "mobile" site. It's all just one site.
