We are staying home as usual, DH always falls asleep but tells me to wake him at midnight A few times I have gone off to bed too, although I have to remember to turn off my phone or else DS will text at midnight and wake me.

I will probally work some more on various room choices with the discount that will be live Monday so far I have choice 1, 2, 3 depending on availablity, who knows I may change to GF or Poly once I work out those numbers

I do believe your Osborne Lights pics came out more beautiful than the ones from last year and I can not believe the light crowds. It seemed like it was just about perfect.

Shelly - I called this morning and was able to use the YW3 booking code to modify my reservation We are back in the Tower TPV and we saved $1196 over our original reservation for the TPV.
I haven't told DH thinking of maybe surprising him, I had to change our dates by 3 days but that just means we get there that much sooner

Good Luck if you try changeing to the Poly 35% is not 40% but still a good discount and beats waiting for something better.

We're heading up to our camp in a little bit to ring in the New Year. Crummy weather, though. Rain, hot, humid, and tornado watches. I guess we'll be watching a lot of football.

I like the GMR too. DD7 gets scared during parts of it (Alien).

We are going to dinner at an Italian restaurant with 28 other friends/neighbors!! Then we will go back to one of the neighbor's homes and play games. We did the same thing last year, but with a few less people. Lots of fun and we get close to home early.

We just went to dinner early and then came home. We went to bed around 10:30 but woke at midnight when some neighbors were setting off fireworks.

Congrats! I haven't done anything yet. I went to the WDW site to get rack rates so I could do the math and be prepared when I call, but the WDW site is down and says to try again later. . .

I'm not sure what to do. CBR with Free Dining is obviously cheaper than the Poly with any room discount. I knew what the difference was with the 40% off, and am pretty disappointed that it's only 30%. DH says just do whatever and not even tell him the price. But I just don't know if I can justify a deluxe price after just doing one. . . I may look into a split stay. . . I don't know!!!

So what are your dates now???

I did end up telling DH, I was too excited to keep it a secret, I worked the numbers for the Poly and GF, it is too bad they are only offering 30% at the Poly but if you did a split stay it might make it affordable. I was afraid when I called they were going to tell me all they had available were CL rooms, I was so happy when they had the room I wanted and now with the discount I don't feel "as guilty" spending that much money.

DH and I started off with10 Days at BC back when I first booked, then thought for a little more we could book a garden view at GF and do 7 or 8 nights then I started priceing out the theme park views at GF, Poly and CR and CR TPV was just a lttle more than GF GV so decided if we did 6 days and added Park Hoppers.............any case I am happy for now and I know you will figure it all out. One thing I learned is if something is within reach then do it now, you just never know what tomorrow will bring.

If it wasn't for the fact that at the Poly you have to pay OOP for the food the $300 extra is really not bad. You should be able to get a good estimate of what your food would run since you paid OOP this year.
I have never done a split stay, just not sure if I would like moving or not.

In any case I do hope you are able to stay at Poly for at least part of your vacation.

Your DS's take better pictures than I do, they got really fantastic shots of the OL. DH was laughing at me on Christmas Day I decided to use the new Point and Shoot I had bought for the trip, well it has a touch screen and lets just say I tend to touch things I shouldn't.

Shelly- I think that your split stay between CBR and the Poly sounds fantasic! I don't think I would want to give up an extra day and this way at least you get to stay at the Poly for 4 days.

Yeah we know about what we will spend on food for the week if we pay OOP. And it's definitely a lot less than we would have to pay for the DDP.

I was trying to run all the numbers by DH last night. There sure is no math like Disney math.

We did a split stay once. We stayed at POR for 6 nights and OKW for 2 nights. We had about 2 hours or so packing and unpacking on the split day. And about a 5 minute cab ride from POR to OKW. So all in all it wasn't too bad. We could have had Disney move our luggage, but we didn't want to be separated from it for the entire day and have to worry about it. One bad thing about the split was that we only had the 2 nights at OKW. I didn't feel like that was enough time to really experience all that a resort has to offer. I said if we ever did a split again we would have to be going for 10 nights and do 5 at each. Nine nights is close enough, right?

Thanks to both of you for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it! We haven't made a final decision yet, but we are leaning towards the split as of now. It's less money, one more day, and we get 2 wonderful resorts. I just hope the split/move won't be too much trouble. It wasn't too bad last time.
