I can hardly stand the wait!!!

"Hello. My name is John. And I'm a Disney-holic."

{ Group : Hi John }

Seriously.. We leave in two days.. or well.. This is Thursday night and we leave VERY early Saturday morning. What is that.. a day and a half?

I'm travelling with a co-worker and we've been running around the office all week citing the number of days till we leave. We work in radio.. so starting yesterday, we started citing it off in the number of hours 'on-air' before we leave.

As of this minute, I'm down to five hours.

I'm mostly packed. Just a few items in the laundry that have to be folded and packed. I'm Canadian, so I got my 'American' money today. (Just as much fun as getting Disney Dollars to me!) .. I keep rechecking our car rental reservation.. Going over the route.. checking gas prices.

I think I should just go to bed now. :)

Wow!!! You are driving from Canada. How fun!!!! Well, maybe.... How long is it going to take?

My parents took my whole family from Florida to Michigan when were kids. That is one of my most fondest memories of my family.

Our trip to Disney is about three months away and it feels like it will be forever before it gets here. Kind of the same feeling I had when I was kid and it was 3 months before Christmas.....

iluvtigger06: "now I know where to get his b-day pin"

Where? Please tell me! My DD is turning 10 while we're there. She's so fired up about it, the b-day pin will be awesome.

And I've officially started packing clothes today. This week my family will have to manage on very little clothing variety. :cool1:

Thanks
Yvette

Wow driving from Canada? Or flying then renting a car? You are lucky gas prices in this area seem to be going down.

I would also like to join the club DA. I went to the mall today and couldn;t help going in the Disney store where I bought t-shirts (well they were on sale) for DH and myself and then to walmart to stock up on all sorts of things I 'might' need.

8 days :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Driving from Canada.. Fortunately we live right near the border with Maine... so its only about 40 minutes before we hit the very top of I-95.

We are driving almost the full length of I-95. It's basically two days of 12 hour driving.. we've got three drivers however, so we'll probably try to go straight thru. With that in mind, we're leaving at 5am on Saturday morning and picking up a rental car in Portland, Maine.

If we make it straight thru, we should be Orlando by late afternoon on Sunday. (yay) Personally, I love driving and I love road trips.. and my two travel buddies are the same.. so I'm not at all worried about the road trip.

Last year, another friend and I drove his new truck from Detroit to Los Angeles, which is about 1/3 longer than this trip and we did that in just over 2 days of pretty much straight tag-team driving... so I'm pretty sure we three can handle this trip. :wizard:

From what I have read, you go to guest relations on main street and tell them and they should give him a pin and from what I understand all the cm's that see him and the eating places will make a fuss over him.

I was there for my Birthday in November - just go to the "town hall" at the Magic kingdom - its off to the left when you first go in. Same with all of the parks - epcot has one with Happy Birthday in all different languages - pick up at guest relations near spaceship earth, and AK has one with the tree of life - guest relations right before you go into the park on the left. MGMs was the same as MK.
I made sure I got on at each park we were at and wore them on the stap of my bag. We were there for 4 days, and none of the parks made a big deal about my birthday being tuesday, when it was say, Sunday and I wanted a pin.

A few more comments - the pins are awesome - the CMs really do look for them.

My mom and I were watching the Parade at MK and Snow White mouthed happy birthday to me from her float, and one of the Pirates walking along the street came right up to me and sang happy birthday.
ALSO, we had done a "Keys to the Kingdom" tour, and at the end, our tour guide have everyone on our tour sing Happy Birthday right in the middle of main street. Gepeto and chip and dale had been out signing autographs, heard it and came over with a birthyda card - signed by them. It was really neat!
At every TS restaurant, they made me a special dessert. And for PotC and Small World, my mom and I were put in the front of the boat.
AND when we were on line at Soarin, the CM made everyone in our queue sing Happy birthday to me.

Disney really makes birthdays magical!

:hourglass I know, I feel the same way. I am heading to WDW this August and the last few weeks have been quite diifcult. However with the planning of everything it makes it time consuming. But soon enough, soon enough :hourglass

We have 36 days before we leave. I finished packing about a week ago :rotfl: . Just waiting on the plane to get here :)

We are the same way here, with 25 days left, suitcases in the spare room on the bed, clothes lying around that can go in the suitcases but not sure if they are the ones. We have lists of things to do, pick up, take out, and my co-workers think I'm losing it the closer it gets. :rotfl:
