I Can Finally Tell You!!!!!!

I've been dying b/c I wanted to spill the news about a present I got DH but I couldn't do it b/c he lurks here often. So here it is - for Christmas, I got him a trip to Universal Studios, Florida - and we're leaving in 9 days! We're staying on-site, which we've never done before and he is so excited! I did a set of clues that he had to search for around the house - here they are:

First, I put a ring box in the toe of his stocking so it was his last present. In the box, there was this:

I bet you are wondering what your big present is this year.
Well, you do not need to worry and you do not need to fear.
Your wife has taken care of you once again,
Now check out the room with the Notre Dame afghan.
(Clue #1: It’s not an X-box 360)

Second clue:

I’m sure you thought you would find your present here.
But that would be no fun for us, my dear.
There are going to be many clues for this game we play,
Now check out the room that would have ice cube trays.
(Clue #2: It has nothing to do with Star Wars)

Third:

Alas, you are stuck with just another clue.
I bet you are frustrated, but what can you do?
I would suggest you become peaceful with zen;
And I would search the room that your parents call the “den”.
(Clue #3: Jefferson will have Questions about it)

Fourth:

Now this will be your fourth and final hint.
The next box you find will be your real present.
I would go to the place where your wife rests her head.
In other words, silly, go look under her bed!
(Clue #4: Captain America will know what it is)

And his last item:

Now Spidey, Now Captain America, Now Popeye, Now Jaws!
Now Hulk, Now Shrek, Now Bubbe, let’s dash away all!
Off to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure we’ll go,
It’s a vacation for us while others have to deal with the snow!

We’re staying on-site at the Royal Pacific;
As a result, we get front of the line status!
We’ll be there from January 5 to 9, 2006,
So some of your work schedule you will have to fix.

But I’m sure it will all be worth it in the end,
As we’ll be having fun in the sun with our Universal Friends!

He was in such shock - he didn't know what to do!

So, tell me all the great things I need to know about Universal! I've been there before, but never on site - so all the skinny on restaurants, etc. Has anyone been to the Luau? Is it any good? I'm signing us up for it today.

Very cool! We love Universal too, it's so much fun. Never stayed on site though so I can't help in that department, sorry.

What a great gift! And what a fun way to present it! We were going to travel those dates, but it turned out to be better for child care arrangements to go later in the month.

We have been to the Luau at RPR. It was okay. DH was pulled on stage to do a hula dance. DS got a kick out of that. Food was okay. I probably would not go again--too much other fun stuff to do.

I agree, go over to the Universal Boards. I'll look for you there.
