I called Disney today!

Finally took the plunge and called Disney today! I'm just so excited that I can hardly stand it! So.... now what do I do?

Any suggestions for good questions to ask when my planner calls? I kind of tend to freeze up and go blank when the time comes... silly, I know. I've never planned anything like this before and do feel sort of overwhelmed!

Congratulations! Depending on the locations you are interested in, you won't be able to contract until 8 months or 12 months out. In the interim, have fun gathering information, reading planning journals (PJs) and trip reports (TRs) here. Looking forward to hearing all about your plans!

You might want to ask about site visits or if you can't make it down for a site visit you can ask for a list of locations that will work for your approximate party size. That's probably a good start. You can find pictures of just about anything in these boards.

I know exactly what you mean! Whenever I'm on the phone with my WM I can't think of a thing to ask her. 30 seconds after we hang up I think of about 15 things. My poor WM gets a million e-mails from me. I suggest anytime you think of a question write it down in one central place.

congrats... my only advice is to make sure that when you figure out prices that they are accurate; nobody likes to think they are paying one amount and be told something different later. i'm a budget freak by the way

Congrats!!!! I'm the type that 'freezes up' too. So what I did was write down ANYTHING that came to my mind, and then when she called I asked every single question. And she was SO great about answering them!!!

Welcome and Congrats you are not far behind me!!!!!! I agree with the other ladies, as you think of things write them down, but usally they want to know details such as: aprox timeframe, ideas for locations, colors.

Thanks for that! I had read on another thread something about budgeting with spreadsheets. Is this a good way to do it? I'm really not familiar with them so I wouldn't know where to start. Any suggestions?

I did a google search for 'wedding budget spreadsheet' and found a neat one. I had to edit it a little (add some columns for my own calculations) but it works I don't remember where I got it from though lol. But i'd just google... that always works

For some reason it seems like the most reasonable ideas and functions are beyond me right now- I feel so silly! Is Bridalitis common? Will I ever be cured?!

I also use a spreadsheet (well it's on my mom's computer and she makes me look at it frequently). It calculates tax and gratuity as well so I can see where I stand with everything. Very helpful because the cost can run away with you if you aren't paying close attention.
