Our youth group held a 'youth auction'/Spaghetti Dinner last night to raise money for their yearly service trip which allows them to help out with sister congregations in New York.

DW had me bid on one of the girls to come and help us out at DD Brittany's birthday party. We could always use an extra pair of hands, and it should be fun as all she has to do is play with the kids, etc...

She was pretty cheap at $100 for 10 hours of general labor, and they made over $1500 overall, so it will help them out immensely.

Should be interesting!

The same thought entered my mind! I guess you have to do a lot of set up, hostessing and cleaning up. This also explains why I NEVER had any birthday parties for my son, ever. Too much trouble.

LOL, I buy teenagers for a meal. :teeth:

Yeah, what Browneyes said..........."Are we all invited?" ?????????;)

The church DH and I belong to does that too. Most of the time elderly people "buy" them to wash windows, rake leaves, shovel snow, that type of thing. It's a great fundraising idea I think.

We'll probably have her come over about noon or so to watch our girls while we get ready for the party. We'll probably have 25 kids with some parents.

She can help out with the party and cleanup afterwards. My guess is she'll be done around 7 or so. So, no it's not 10 hours, but close enough. I think she'll be happy to be paid to play most of the day. We don't really need her. It was just a way to help the church out and get a helping hand at the same time...

It will be a big party, but mommy likes big parties.
