and I am wondering....what did I spend all that money on? Yes I know its a buffet. but...its the same price as Hoop De Doo/Luau at WDW. Those are full dinners/shows.

So I need those who are fans of the Fantasmic Dessert to cheer me on and tell me what great experiences they had. :goodvibes

I booked us for the balcony as you get the dessert buffet and on the walkway you got just a togo box with goodies. :scared: :bitelip:

When we were there in August they had cheese and crackers, fruit skewers, mickey waffles with chocolate syrup or strawberries, cheesecake, a chocolate mouse cake, eclairs, lemon bars, some other cookies I didn't taste and then lots of different options for drinks. I thought it was WELL worth it!

Disney-Kim,
I haven't done the dessert buffet, but I've heard the view is terrific. We're going right before Christmas, same time that we went last year. Last year they weren't having Fantasmic, I'm told this year they are. So, I have a question for you ....how far ahead can you book it, and what number do you call? Thanks so much if you can give me this info!

Hmmm. My sister and her family did it last summer. She was dissapointed that they were in the back of the balcony and her daughter could not see very well. So try to get a front row seat.

Friday, Oct. 17th will be our first time doing the Fantasmic buffet. We called 30 days out. We were one of the first calls rec'd. We were told they assign seating according to the order you phone in. The CM said we would get the front row. I hope that is true. I'll let everyone know if this holds true.:Pinkbounc

We asked VP to book us the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet for August 30th, our wedding anniversary.

However, when we walked up to the balcony we were told our seats were in priority seating on the walkway.

So my opinion is of the Priority Seating with the box of treats on the walkway.

It was awesome. We were so close to the water, didn't matter where we sat, front or back we could see the show and the fireworks. The treats were just excellent with as many soft drinks, hot chocolate, water that we wanted.

My son, just as the show started, decided he had to go to the washroom. I was a little horrified because as we all know it isn't cheap to sit in those seats balcony or priority seating and there are thousands and thousands of people down there.

I said to my son, please hold on, can you wait? He started to tear up and said no. So my husband went to ask one of the cast members where the nearest bathrooms were. The cast member said, "let me show you" The cast member walked with my husband and son with a flashlight and waited for them and walked them back. They only missed part of the Captain Hook Peter Pan part of the show.

After the show was over they welcomed us to move our seats down so we would have a great view of the fireworks. It was worth every penny as it was our last night there and our Anniversary.

The Fantasmic show if you haven't seen it, is the MOST awesome thing I have ever seen. I just couldn't believe the things I saw there and the way the music and surprises in the show make you feel. There are thousands and thousands of people down there wanting to see this show and to be able to have a guaranteed seat and have some special treatment was definitely worth it.

I should add, I tried to see the show one night before our special seating and it was a nightmare. My dd was in a stroller and I couldn't find anywhere to sit, I could hardly walk through the crowd and I wasn't able to stop anywhere because everywhere you stop is a walkway and a cast member will come with there light and say, "Move along, move along, keep walking, keep walking"

So YES YES YES, worth it a million times over. I loved it and I wasn't even in the balcony and with the exchange I paid alot for those tickets. So with the show itself, the treats as an added bonus and the courtesy of the cast members, I would do it again in a minute.

I don't think you will be sorry.

We were the first to book for the late showing, the earlier was sold out. I called exactly 30 days out at about noon. (I forgot to call earlier):faint: So if the first call first seated holds true we should have front row seats. We called the number listed here in the FAQ's for Dining.
We have seen parts of Fantasmic at DL and WDW but never the whole show. At DL we never want to be anywhere near all those crowds or sit an hour ahead to see the show. So this will be a treat.
The desserts sound great !! Yummy
:wave2:

I felt it was worth it. We went during the Summer and the crowds were lining up for the first show 3 hours in advance. I don't do three hours!!!!

It was relaxing and money well spent. It bought us a few extra touring hours!

The veiw of course is the best!

We did it on 082903, and I wasn't 100% pleased with our seats on the balcony, just about 90% pleased. Our party of 2 seemed to be pushed off in to the right hand corner, so bad that I was practically sharing my seat with the plant in the corner there! Plus, there was a speaker smack dab in the middle of my view. But it sure beat any other view around, I am sure!

Other than that, it is quite a cost, but was worth it. It was my first time seeing the DLR Fantasmic show, and lord knows I wasn't going to blow 3 hours trying to get a good view. It is one of those "spoil your self because it's your birthday, darn it" that I really enjoyed, but not to be repeated any time soon.

You feel like A-list visitors for an hour or so, so it is a super fun thing to do once in a while. Like others said, you won't regret it, kind of like splurging on that pair of shoes you got, but shouldn't have! It is good fun, with good desserts, and a good view. You will enjoy it! Why does it cost as much as the dinner shows at WDW, I have no idea....but aren't things just more expensive in California, anyway?;)

Mickey's old friend, - We will be there too on 10/17/2003 for the show 9:00 PM. Priority section.

Disney Kim -

I Can't wait, this time we are treating ourselves after many times lining up for hours on end just to stand for the entire show.

We even tried the riverbelle terace lastime we were there, and even though the show and view was great the patio area got awefully crowded once the show started.

Just being able to sit in reserved seating and not worry about rude guests crowding in on you after you spent hours staking territory is justification enough for the cost.

It is a special treat that adds to that Disney magic.

Whiles

Whiles, I will look for you. I am traveling with my adult daughter.
I am very excited to see Fantasmic from the balcony! (At least I hope we have the balcony:rolleyes: ) We leave Monday eve. I'm counting the hours.

DH made balcony reservations for us on November 1. I think he said the early show. I can't wait to see the show and taste all the desserts. And best of all, my sister is coming down from northern CA for the day to celebrate my birthday with me. She's never seen Fantasmic either in CA or FL - DH and I have seen it several times in FL. So it's going to be a real treat for all of us.

Someone help - I am a little ignorant at this.

I am planning on being at DL in January and have never seen Fantasmic. I'll be with my aunt and would love to do the Fantasmic dessert but would like more info. How much does it cost? How far in advance should I call? Who do I call? Any otehr insight?

Thanks in advance for your information.

Are they even going to have Fantasmic in January? I would love to do it again when we go but I thought it wasn't playing after November. Anyone know?
