My DH is in Germany on business, and my DD-3 is going to a birthday party today. So, I asked my DS-6 if he wanted to go to a movie with me--just the two of us. The little jerk said no! :teeth: And I was even going to let him pick the movie.

Ooh, I'm feeling the sting of rejection. That's the last time I ask out a guy, that's for sure!

My son (also 6) says no to EVERY invite we pose. We have quit inviting him anywhere, and just put him in the car and don't tell him where we're going. He always has a blast.

I feel your pain. This morning I asked my DS 7 if he wanted to go do just a little bit of shopping with me and he said "No, take Bailey." So I said "Come on, your sister always gets to go shopping with me and I'd like to just take you." "No, I'll stay home with Dad" then he walked away :confused3 Does he not love me anymore? LOL

I can't kiss him on the lips, tell him I love him if his friends are around, can't see him without his shirt on (but its ok for swimming) and heaven forbid anyone see his underwear! :rotfl:

Tell him "okay, I guess we better go shopping for new underwear then. I hoope none of your friends see"

Blackmail works :)

:rotfl: My soon to be six year old turns me down for movie dates too. He's not a big fan of the movies...they scare him.

LOL! He'd probably say, "Ooh, can I get some Star Wars underwear?!" :rotfl:

UPDATE: Well, he finally agreed to the movie date. Apparently mom guilt does work. ;) We went to see Big Momma's House 2 (his pick). I even paid--since I was the one that asked him out, I figured it was only fair. :teeth:

Afterward he said, "Mom, I'm glad I went to the movie with you." Awww, what a guy! :cloud9:

That's my son too! Even at WDW!

That's Cute!

Yes - it is a cute story -- silly boy -- for saying no right away - I am glad he went and had fun!

but :offtopic: what is really cute is that little princess in Shasess siggie picture!! What a darling little girl!!

Glad to see that your date worked out after all because rejection is never fun.

I'm glad he decided to go! I'm so happy my son hasn't reached that stage yet, he still goes wherever I invite him. We had a movie date today with movies we rented from Blockbuster. :goodvibes

Glad things worked out. Mother's guilt, oh I mean common sense, usually makes them see the light.

Just wait a few more years - it gets worse. My 10 year old DS won't go anywhere with me. And PDA (public displays of affection)? Forget it! If I so much as hug him he won't speak to me the rest of the day. :rolleyes1

I have the opposite problem. My soon-to-be 7 year old can't get enough of me!! He has asked many times why he can't marry me! I have given him every reason (I'm already married to Daddy, you can't marry family members, I'm too old for him, etc) but he still asks!! He also says he will still snuggle with me until he is 30 and he wants to live here forever. I tell him that I think his feelings will be a lot different in just a few years, but "no, mom, I mean it!" It's actually a little sad that his feelings will change! Not that I'd actually snuggle with my 30 year old son, but I hope he remains my biggest fan forever! :sunny:

And they say *women* are fickle! :teeth:

Glad you two had such a good time! :goodvibes
