I am with Walter on the hot tub!!

I have come to find no hot tub also makes or breaks my trip too!! I tried to go cheapo last fall and stay at POP since we were treating our nephews to a trip. Momma was miserable. I HAVE to have a hot tub. I will admit it....On my last trip I pool/hot tub hopped when we went to dinner at AKL. After 4 days I couldnt take it any longer. Had we been there alone and not with 14 people I would have switched resorts.

By the way I can never stay at Poly.......NO Hot tub. What is up with that?? Last time I checked it was a deluxe with deluxe prices. I would love to stay there but that is a deal breaker.

Same for us! This is exactly why I did not choose the Poly for our last trip even though it had such rave reviews. DH and I use the hot tub every day while the children are in the pool.

You probably already know this but if you stay at the Poly you can walk over to the GF health club (a scenic few minute stroll) and use the hot tub/steam/sauna area at the health club for no additional charge.

So you must think I am nutts for takinga perfectly good hottub, that was in my sunroom when I bought my house, and having my DH saws-all it out the door I just couldn't handle knowing it had lil germy friends from someone else IIIIICKKKKK!! I just couldnt do it, so off it went. We did try to get it out the sliders in one piece to give it away, but it wouldnt fit- so he got out the saws-all LOL! It has heat in there too, so picture all sliders, a nice hottub, and heat for the winter months. I think you would of enjoyed it!!

We also filled in the inground swimming pool LOL. It needed repair anyway, but we didnt want to up keep of a pool, so that is gone too.

AMEN! No kids in the hot tub!!!!! Like Pete says stay out of the lakes can be the same as keep the kids out of the hot tub!

I agreed with Pete that little ones should stay out of the hot tub for their own safety. The warnings are there for a reason.

But I did find one part of that segment humorous. His point about having toddlers wear swim diapers because he didn't want to be in a pool of pee. Pete, I hate to break it to you, but swim diapers don't actually hold the pee in. Their sole purpose is to keep the poop in. The pee will flow freely from any swim diaper I've ever seen.

Stay Out Of The Damn Hot Tubs!!!!!

Coronado Springs has a nice, big hot tub at the main pool but everytime we went to use it, morning, afternoon, at night, there were rowdy, little obnoxious kids in it.

Count my vote for the importance of hot tubs! My parents had one before they moved, and it was SO NICE to use in the middle of the night when it was totally quiet, or after getting home from a 13-hour drive.

And kids in the hot tub also make me *crazy*! I remember when I was a kid and we'd go to this hotel with water slides and a hot tub, and I counted down the years until I was 12 and could do both. Though I think I may have cheated by going in the hot tub when I was 11, since we figured there wasn't much physiological difference between 11 and 12, and I was a well-behaved 11-year-old.

Just a little tip from a WDW hot tub connossiur. AKL has the best hot tub set up for parents with little ones. The large hot tub is located right next to the playground and the bar area. Me and DH took turns in the hot tub while our little guy played on the playarea and could still speak to each other and see each other if I got on the very end. Also he would walk over to the bar and get me a drink. We spent many hours in the AKL hot tub/playground area. I let my little guy on the steps for a few minutes but never in for a swim. I wanna see the toddler that can tolerate the temperature of the water. My son would barely put his feet on the steps. Now that boggles the mind that you could get a toddler in the hot tub. No amount of pleading would have gotton my son in that water. Now for the 8-10 crowd with no parents. I became the parent and YES I yelled at other people children. Call me a grouch. It made me nutso trying to relax with them swimming in the hot tub.
