Oh my goodness, I was just sitting on the swing in the garden, quietly doing my daily Sudoku, when a mouse ran right next to my foot! Yuck! Well, I think it was a mouse - I HOPE it was a mouse - I didn't stay there longer than a nano-second so I suppose, it might have been a ... no, I can't even say it - yuck!

Okay, how can I get rid of any rodents that may be living in my garden, I HAVE to eliminate them or I shan't be able to use the garden all summer. I can only just cope with the toad that has taken up residence, but mice and bigger rodents are not part of the equation. And I know they're probably more scared of me - actually, I seriously doubt that!

Please - does anyone have a foolproof way of dealing with them?

We had a field mouse in our garage last winter and like you i am terrifed of them. we were advised to put traps down with chocolate on them this worked for us. try to get plastic traps they are better than the wooden ones. good luck

Gill what do you do when you go to WDW and bump into Mickey!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Only kidding - you can get mice friendly traps that allow you to capture them without killing them!

Nice idea, but I'm afraid I have to say I'd rather kill 'em! MM is THE ONLY Mouse I can tolerate - he's big enough not to scare me!

Pathetic isn't it?

Hi

I would get a cat or as Carol say borrow one. To be honest I am not sure how a mouse trap would work in a garden they have plenty of choices not like indoors. I would still give it a go. My mum and dad had a mouse trap for a week the old wooden type we had a field mouse that lived in the chimney breast. It took a week to catch the little thing.

We have a mouse in our back garden who climbs the tree to get to the bag of nuts we put out for the birds. It nibbled a hole in the bottom of the bag so they all fell to the ground!!

Sorry girls but I hope the mouse lives to fight another day :thumbsup2 Hopefully he'll move on to another location :)

Gill the only advice I can offer is next time you're sitting quietly in your garden make sure you have your feet up, besides that mouse is probably miles away now

The only mice I like are either Mickey or Minnie :thumbsup2 Hope you get it sorted out Gill :goodvibes

Our cats have always proved useless at catching anything! If you managed to trap one in a trap you're a better woman than me if you could cope with removing the body. Can't do dead things. :confused3

I wouldn't worry too much as he was outside he's probably miles away by now so the chances are you'll not see him again :)

Oh you poor thing Gill :grouphug:

When we had mice in our shed last year I borrowed next door's cats who were next to useless :rotfl: in the end one of my shelties turned out to be a champion mouser! :dogdance:
