I Am Totally In Love With Bare Escentual

Been using BE for over a year now. I still use Lancome face lotions, but no longer use Lancome makeup because I really like BE.

Things I think are worth trying:

Bisque- which is a concealer... use the concealer brush... terrific coverage that stays in place and does not look like concealer.

Eyebrow powder and brush
Eyebrow grooming gel-tinted (looks like mascara)- both good. I have non existent blonde/redhead brows and this stuff works without looking heavy. Takes some experimentation to get it right.

Tinted mineral veil- great for the summer... lighter than a bronzer, sheer as mineral veil with a hint of all over color.

any eyeshadow- dang these are great.. they last all day and are in wonderful natural colors.

Foundation- ok I have said this before and I am going to say it again.
I have a biracial family-black/white. We are every shade from translucent pale white to expresso.... and this is the first foundation that comes in EVERY SHADE! It is the FIRST foundation that is a good match for both of my daughters skin... and mine too.. and I have freckles which I like to show thru so the sheer factor is great!

Brushes I love most of the BE brushes... they are very high end pieces.

Have fun and enjoy your BE!

oh.. and I love a great deal... it is a passion of mine.. :teeth:

I have found the best consistent sale prices for BE to be found on QVC.
even the BE sales women have told me that they get "good deals" on BE on QVC.. YAY! if anyone knows a place to find good deals on BE.. share please! Thanks!!

It is going to be Christmas for my DM and DSis.

I am totally new to it and I just got the kit with the foundations, warmth, and mineral veil. Can anyone suggest other things?

As some of the DIS ladies know, I host a forum on Delphi dedictated to all things BE, and then some! There are TONS more BE products out there, and it's time for you to try some color! The good news is that Leslie Blodgett will be on QVC on Saturday 9/17 from 10PM-12AM ET. The kits at QVC are always a deal because you get them cheaper than if you bought the pieces individually. BE is also available at their own boutiques, Sephora, Ulta and select Nordstrom stores.

Here are some links for you to check out:

BE Website - www.bareescentuals.com
Delphi Forum - http://forums.delphiforums.com/bareescentuals
Our Website - www.beaddicts.com

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'd love to help!

I love mine! I got the starter kit. The only thing that I don't use is the "Warmth" as I obviously cannot apply it correctly without making myself look "dirty".

Suzi

Suzi,

I can't use Warmth either! I love the "pink" equivilent, Glee. It's made for those of us with pink skintones instead of olive/tan skintones.

There are lots of great places to buy BE. Please check out our website that we created for our forum at www.beaddicts.com. You want to look at the "Let's Go Shopping" page.

Glee...that's good to know, thanks. I didn't even know that Glee was an option as I just bought the regular starter kit. Thanks for letting me know!

Suzi

I keep thinking I would like to give this a try, but I don't want to spend the money and not like it.

eBay, eBay, eBay! Definitely get samples of the colors first. I would also suggest picking up a BE Flawless Face Brush because the correct tools make all the difference. If you go to www.beaddicts.com and go to the Shopping page, you'll see that we have eBay sellers listed there that sell samples.

I second this, I started using it earlier this summer, and I bought small and sample sizes off e-bay or a website, www.naturallyflawless.com. It's great, I love it, but I didn't want to spend all that money for nothing. I bought a starter kit off e-bay for $19.99 that included the BE Kabuki brush, 2 foundations, warmth, bisque and mineral veil. It's a great way to try stuff out.

A friend told me the secret to it being less messy (after I opened mine of course) was to not pull off the sticky tab but to poke holes in it. That way less comes out.

I do that too. I only pull it barely halfway.

I used the warmth twice, but I felt like my cheeks were orange. If I use it, I need to use just a tiny bit and mix it with a more pink color.

I use the brow kit... I like it. I have barely there... blondish/red eyebrows. I tried the blonde kit. I also ordered the tinted eyebrow gel...I like it better.. it gives me a sense of where my eyebrows are hiding. :)

It takes experimentation to get used to how much powder to use but it works and it stays in place.

Thank you so much! It sounds we have similar eyebrows. I have these dark/white-blond eyebrows so it looks like I'm missing chunks of them. Is the tinted eyebrow gel bare escentuals? What shade did you get?

It sounds like a trip to Sephora is in order.

I can't remember who originally posted on here about the sale at MediSpa but a great big thanks to you.

That was me!!!!!! Oh I am so happy that you love the product. It's the greatest invention since sliced bread :teeth: . I am wondering about the other ladies that decided to try it and how they are liking it. The next time that I get any e-mails about BE sales, I will post them. That was an excellent sale, and no shipping if the purchase is over $25!!!! My DSIL and a mutual friend started using it because they liked how it looked on me, now they too are hooked :goodvibes !!!!

I use bisque for eyeshadow, sometimes as a foundation for other colors, sometimes alone. It's a great shade. I have a few other colors that I got as part of a set, but I use bisque more than anything.

Also, I just finished a container of Golden Gate blush. Very pleased with this color but switched to Nars Orgasm (I have a hard time typing that word) blush. Mostly because Nars is less messy than BE.

Well, I have to say that I still prefer the "other" brands of mineral make-up. The foundations just seem more natural colored. Don't get me wrong, BE is still great, but I find it has a bit more "orange or yellow" in it than I care for. I got the Medium kit from Medi-Spa. My friend, who is bit more fair than me, got the Light kit and she also feels that it has too much yellow.

So, I may stick with Sheer Cover if I can get it, or Aromaleigh (someone here on the DIS turned me on to them. Good stuff and much cheaper than BE).

Also, Medi-Spa sent me an e-mail that they were no longer carrying BE on-line anymore.

Another BE lover here. My mom got it for me as an early xmas gift this year from MediSpa (when they had that great deal of free shippng and 20% off).

I have been using it for years and love. It makes me break out less and when I do, it's easy to cover up. It doesn't look like foundation but makes your skin smooth and consistent.

I got the mineral veil for the first time and don't think I like it. It doens't look like it does anything. I love warmth, but I have very olivey skin tones. The brushes are a must! I tried another brush once and it just didn't work as well.

Subscribing! :) I'm interested. I have never used foundation! Unless it's a very special occasion, I just use a clinique concealer (matte light), a little lipstick and an eyelash curler. I don't like makeup all that much.

But, I would like to try something new and light to zip things up a bit. :)

Thanks to everyone for sharing their tips!

I just love BE. I've been using it for about 2 months now. I can't stand liquid foundation and regular powder foundation was too drying. So until BE, I never even wore any. Now I use my BE every day. My skin even looks better now when I don't have the makeup on as well. I started out with the starter kit and now I've added some glimmers, glimpses, and eye liners. I love the eyeliner. I was never able to apply regular eyeliner well. I use the precision liner brush wet and it goes on great. I like the warmth a lot as well. I mix it with mineral veil and sometimes use that as foundation. I also like to dip a chapstick in the warmth and use it as lipstick.
