I want to go now,now I say!!!! I have been waiting for over a year and it seems like the wait is getting longer know that we are getting closer to the time. Does that make sense? I find myself having trouble concentrating at work, all I want to do is sit on the computer with the dis. I really do think I need help, or maybe I should go on vacation. OH! I forgot I still have 109 days left urgh!!!!!
Has anyone else had this problem with waiting? Does it seem harder to wait the closer you get to your trip?

No matter how close it gets, it still seems far away and even if you cruise frequently, it still feels like it's forever til the next one.

The days are longer for some reason!LOL

And I know what you mean about checking the boards more often. You feel that you are missing something or your're forgetting to do something.

Right now I just keep skipping at work singing, "I'm going to DW, I'm going to DW and a cruise!"

The guys in white jackets are due soon if I don't get down there soon!

Scratch:crazy:

That's why I hang out on this board! It is hard for me to wait too. September seems so far away!

ROFL vic...I have 190 days and I'm starting to get like that. This will be our first cruise and my worry is as the days get colder....I'm GONNA WANT TO GO NOW TOO!!!! :D:D:D

Hang in there....maybe put some pics up to imagine that you are there now!!!! (or maybe not...that would make me want to be there sooner!!!! :D:D:D:D )

Good idea about the pictures - at my desk is one of of a horse and rider on the beach taken from Nikki's site (Grand Cayman).
Due to Hurricane Lili, we went Eastern instead of Western and I am still waiting for my ride along the beach!!!!!

Waited 11months and then with only 22hours left to go the cruise was cancelled. Rescheduled and waiting another 11months. 10 more months to go!!

Look at my countdown clock and cry ;)
I started it at about 600 days. Did the the same in early 2000 for late 2001, and then the waiting time was over so fast. You'll get kind of used to it, believe me.

just wait until you get into the single digits!!! then you'll really feel like it's a long time to get to end of the countdown!!!

I still have a year to go for my "first ever cruise" as I call it. I am having so much fun planning, that I will really be sad when it's over... oh well, we'll just have to book that Christmas/New Years 2004 cruise!!

Hi,

I had to chuckle when I read your post. I feel the same way. All I do is think about the cruise, it is consuming my every thought. We sail on the Magic 3/22/03. I am on this disboard more than I should be at work. But, I love reading about the cruise details from those that have been. The looking forward to a trip is always fun, but this is getting to the point that is all I am doing. I can't wait for this trip!!

Much enjoyment comes from the planning, and thinking and changing, and re-planning, and imagining, and dreaming prior to going...

Imagine booking last minute and missing all that????

>>^..^<<

LOL at the addiction element of this board. I too am in single digits
and can't quit checking the new posts. My husband is starting to
give me weird looks because I'm on the compurter so much and you
should have seen the one he gave me when I told him I want to
book another DCL cruisewhen we haven't even been on the 1st one
yet!! On top of that I can't wait to get back and help other people
with their questions the way all of you nice people have helped me.
Thank you J.

Be patient.....part of the fun is the planning, and reading the Dis, and making more changes, etc. I know.....I enjoy all the pre-cruise stuff. I am not happy unless I know I have a cruise booked. Just found out I have to cancel our 7/19 cruise and I am bummed.....

What I really wanted to get to is that enjoy this time before because time jumps into overdrive once onboard and it's over way too quickly!!!

MJ -
You had to cancel that trip?! Ohh, I'm so sorry! I hope that it isn't something serious/life threatening.

If things start to look okay again, why don't you rebook for Halloween and be with us!

I really had to chuckle when I read your post. Our first cruise is this summer and I check these boards DAILY! Yes, I am just a wee-bit of a planner and I think this is half of the fun for me.

What is funny is that my husband also thinks I've lost my mind & need a psychological evaluation because just last week told him I want to book our next cruise now, prior to going on our first. Bad thing is........I'm not kidding! :D

rae....no nothing life threatening or too serious....just lack of funds. We had that cruise booked since August of 2001 and was able to sneak in two other DCL 7 day cruises since then. And, seeing we just got off the Magic on 1/4 and the prices are so very much higher in July, we opted to cancel July and wait until next winter.

Also, our son's car needs $2,000 worth of work this week and he will be going to college in the fall...and his sister already in college, all things considered....we had to cancel....boo hoo.

I waited 35 years for my first cruise (Feb 2000 Wonder);it was worth the wait, then I waited another 31 months anticipating another great cruise (It seemed a lot longer than the origional 35 years), this time 7 great nights in the Eastern carribean only to be cancelled 10 hours before I was to leave my house. Now I have how much longer???? I have that friendly reminder every time I make a post!!!

imgoingtodisney,

You wouldn't happen to have rebooked the same time?? Saturday after Thanksgiving??
