Does anyone else have lizard infestations, or is just because I am the lizard queen? I am scooping these guys up and taking them outside several times a day (and its not the same one!) The cats catch them when I'm not home, so I get to be the lizard pieces remover, too :crazy2:

I usually grab them and hold on to their tails to get them outside, but I got ahold of a gecko the other night and ended up holding just a wiggly tail, while the gecko scampered off. Let me repeat::crazy2:

Well, at least we don't have a bug problem.

Its been to chilly here in my neck of the woods for the lizards....they should be returning soon....

As will the Love Bugs....EECCCHHHH:earseek:

Hey, want to borrow my son for a while? He would LOVE it at your house! Seriously, all he does in Disney is Anole Hunt! :p He has caught ONE in all of the trips we have made. I can't imagine him if he could catch (and release, of course) geckos! The kid would be in heaven! :bounce: :bounce:

Let me know... he is 7.833333 years old. ;)

We have lizards too! We bought a house in 10/03, and I keep finding lizards in it. They seem to come into the basement first but some manage to start climbing the stairs. By that time, DSs usually find and remove them.

Our previous house was only a mile from here and we never had lizards in that house (but we didn't have a basement or a creek in the backyard as we do now).

I had never heard of anyone having lizards in their house. I was delighted to see your post so that now I know it's not just us. I have been wanting to call the couple that we bought the house from and say "hey, what's up with the lizards?"

Do you have any idea why there are lizards in our house? Can one do anything to get rid off them other than by "tail removal"?

Not right now -- we had 3 that were living on our bathroom window (outside) for the longest. I haven't seen them in awhile -- since it started getting cooler. I live about 20 miles north of you -- they must have gone south for the winter. :rotfl:

Any and all lizard catchers are welcome at my house. My kids think its cool that Mom has gotten so good at catching them and releasing them, but they won't do it.

We've always had a good number, but I think they must be currently sending messages over the lizard internet to come party at my house. When I come in or out the door, there is usually one waiting to scurry in!

Anyone remember the Simpsons episode where Lisa drinks the water of the boat ride (ala Small World) at Duff Beer Gardens and proclaims herself the lizard queen? I'm a close second!

Living in the north east it never even crossed my mind - lizards in the house. :D When we go to WDW we love seeing the lizards but I sure wouldn't want one in my house. I didn't even think you could catch them. I just always assumed they would be to quick.

It is definitely too cool here for lizards right now.

That is funny, a few weeks ago, I caught one outside and thought about bringing it in for Rocky (the infamous cat) to play with. I decided against it. Too many claws and teeth, I didn't want it to be mangled.

Not to mention, it was a green one, far less of the green, indiginous anoles around than the non-indiginous, brown ones.

So, I guess I am the opposite, I almost brought one IN. :)

I know what your problem is, you keep catching them and throwing them back outside. Maybe you should flush them instead, kinda like aquarium fish you know (OK Just Kidding).

My question is how the heck are they getting in the house, I'd be searching every nook and cranny, we have spider problems ourselves mainly in the fall when it gets colder, its like they are everywhere until I can get rid of them.

How does lizard taste? Maybe lizard soup? OK I'm done.

Best of luck

Get lizards all the time. Usually my husband or daughtters catch them and take them out. After almost 30 years I'm used to them.

Boy, do I feel like a fool...we paid $60 (each) for our 2 adult geckos a few years ago...and THEN we bred them and painstakingly incubated their eggs!!!! LOL....

Here in the south we get them ALL the time! Sometimes they are all over our screened in porch and it is alot of fun to see how far you can make them fly by banging on the screen!!:hyper:

Also, my dh likes to freak my ds's out by hanging the green ones from his earlobes!:scared:

And he swallowed a gecko once on a dare and then hacked him back up cause the boys didn't believe he really did it!:crazy2: Always an adventure at this house, but ain't NO way I am picking one up!

Lizards don't last all that long in a Michigan January. No lizard infestations here
