We just booked my 5 Year "Cancer Free" Anniversary trip to WDW!!! I was diagnosed with cancer during my pregnancy and I didn't get to enjoy much of my 3rd trimester or 1st couple of months after my daughter's birth. My husband asked me what I wanted to do in 5 years to celebrate being "Cancer Free" and said, of course, go to WDW!!! We will be staying 5 nights at ASMo and 2 nights AKL Savannah View, but I am hoping to switch from ASMo to WL Woods View since we will be there when Christmas Decorations will be up! Does anyone have any suggestions for something "Special" that we can do to celebrate? Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!!
THANKS and I'm SORRY for rambling, I just had to share!!!

:goodvibesAww that's so awesome! I wish you the best of luck. Have fun on your trip :flower:

Good for you. I don't have any suggestions except to say have a wonderful time. You deserve it.

That is so wonderful and what a great way to celebrate :goodvibes A carriage ride would be fun :)

Congratulations, and continued good health to you and your family!!! :grouphug:

Julie - congratulations to you. I hope you have a great celebration trip!!

For something special....Hmmmm. You could do a horse drawn carriage ride at at the WL. We did that at Thanksgiving and it was really pretty.

You and your daughter could do the Princess Tea Party together. My daughters loved it. I was actually expecting to snooze through it, but I was really entertained, too.

There is always the Wishes cruises, or Illuminations cruise. Never done them. I know lots have, but they just don't interest me for some reason.

You could do a special park tour with your family.

These are all I could think of. When we go to WDW, we usually just go nuts in the parks ALL day. When we were there over Thanksgiving, we knew the parks would be crowded so we did plan these extra activites I mentioned.

Good luck - happy planning!! Have a terrific trip! I'm sure you'll get lots of other suggestions!!

what a better way to celebrate life than to go dancing?!? hit up pleasure island or the atlantic dance hall at the boardwalk! :3dglasses

Thanks for all the nice comments, thoughts and suggestions! :grouphug:

Congratulations Julie,

What about La Nouba? I like the sounds of the fireworks or illuminations cruises also. Dinner at Victoria and Alberts maybe?

Carriage ride at Por?

Lots of special things to do - depends on what you like.

PS - never done any of these but they're all things I want to do when I have a larger budget!

no suggestions but wanted to say....CONGRATULATIONS :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Continued good health....

Enjoy your trip

Julie,

From one breast cancer survivor to another, congratulations on your five year anniversary! I just hit 21 years in January, so I know how wonderful it is to hit that five year mark that says "I'm a survivor!".

If you would PM me the date you will be arriving at WDW, where you will be staying and the name your reservation will be under, there may be a little something special waiting for you to help you celebrate!

You GO girl!!! Congratulations BIG TIME!!

What a wonderful story. Have a terrific time with your beautiful family on your trip. Savor every minute as we cancer survivors have learned to do so well. God bless.

Congratulations!

My sister and I had a "Victory Tour" of WDW after her kidney transplant (she waited a LOOONG tiome for the new kidney). In advance, I told the CM's at our hotel what we were celebrating, and we got a little pixie dust sprinkled on us! It was special just to be there together, but the pixie dust was nice, too. So, my advice is tell them why you are so happyy to be there!

Congratulations on the 5 year mark!

Are you thinking about something special for all of you to do or just you? If it's for all of you I'd try to book a fireworks cruise if it's just for you how about a morning of pampering at the GF spa?

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your 5 year anniversary! That is so wonderful, awesome, amazing! :goodvibes

Character dinings are wonderful to do. Also, you might go to Guest Services in eachof the parks, tell them of you celebration, and see what they suggest. I bet they could suggest something as well as share in your joy.
