We're planning a weekend trip next weekend (March 30-April 3) and I've started packing and I just realized that I am tired of lugging around diapers and wipes. Each time we go, my day bag for the parks gets smaller because we get more experienced about what we'll need for the day.

I long to be backpack free!!!!

I have 4 kids and I've been changing diapers for the past 11 years, with only a 2 month break between child 2 and child 3.

I have a 2 1/2 year old who is nowhere near potty training, so I'm stuck-maybe for another year! AAAAAHHHHHH!

Thanks for letting me vent.

I feel your pain sistah!
It seems like I have been in, just out, back in, just out, and back in diapers for so long that they are like a accent piece in our home ;)

As soon as my little one is out of them I plan to have a sacrafical burning of the last diapers.

Chin up, this last one could fool ya and potty train really quick.
Good luck!

I am right there with you!!!! We have been with diapers for 9 1/2 straight years, 3 different times we had 2 in them at the same time! Make it stop! :rotfl: DD2 will pee on the potty once a day but we have yet to experience the other. I would love to give the diapers to the Easter Bunny to take to the babies but DD is not ready. Oh, how I wish she was ready.

I feel your pain. I had one month of no diapers between my ds and my dd.
We are now DIAPER FREE and I am so happy. I still use a pull-up at night on my 27 m/o dd because she will still have an occassional night-time accident and I don't want 1) her laying in pee and 2) changing the sheets all the time. We don't go to WDW until November so hopefully by then I won't even need the nighttime pull-up.

I have only been messing with diapers for 28 months and am tired of it :rotfl: But just this week I've decided that I'm done....we ran out of diapers and I told DD that we weren't getting any more because she was a big girl now and could use the potty. Before you think I'm a mean mommy let me just say she "gets it". She went to her mamaw's with daddy last Saturday and asked to go to the potty every time and never wet her diaper once. I'm not sure what the problem at home or nanny's is (I think it was as much if not more us than it was her.) but at nanny's we're doing pull-ups because my mom doesn't want to mess with training panties and at home when I get home she goes into training panties with plastic pants over them. Yesterday was the first day and she did great. She still wet some - but then last night she stayed dry all evening and asked to peepee even after we had went to bed and did - and then she was dry when she woke up this morning. I'm just taking it one day at a time. I think I was holding her back a little because she's my baby.

I totally understand what you mean. There are 34 months between ds1 and ds3 and again 34 months dd2 and ds7. Twice I've had three in diapers. When my fourth child (ds3) got out of diapers I was ready to send up fireworks because I thought I'd never had to change a diaper again! Surprise. There were 12 years between ds3 and dd2 and then we started all over again. Now I know we are finally finished and it's great.

Now potty training doesn't seem like such a big deal. Of course that's because I'm done with it.

I so understand. This is our 13th year of diapers and i'm just over it. :badpc:

I have learned that some kids are NEVER ready and mom and dad have to decide THEY are ready to potty train. Why not give it a shot and see how it goes. You are really motivated so maybe it will rub off!!!!Good luck.

I have to say this is a big reason why we are planning #4 close in age to #3. After having #2 & #3 close in age (accidentally), I discovered two in diapers at the same time wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And since the number of diapers is the same regardless, I'm liking less time with diapers. I want out of this stage of life!!

I know this isn't what you were interested in hearing...but...
My 3 kids are now 9,7 and 5. I'm pretty sure we're done. I had two in diapers at a time twice. My youngest is heading to kindergarten next year and this Mommy is not ready! I know what it's like to feel like you'll never be free again, free of diapers, free of diaper bags, etc. I used to look at the women in Target who were shopping alone during the day and oh, how I envied them! Now, I am one of them (my youngest is in preschool three mornings a week). Now, I look at the moms with the toddler in the cart and realize how, looking back, that time went by too quickly. Just try to remember that this is only a "season" of your life. Before you know it, they'll all be in school, and you'll wonder how the time went by so "fast".
