I am so sad

My oldest son is leaving for overseas, with all the injuries and deaths happening over there, I am scared to death. I know it is his job, and he is prepared for anything, I still am scared and very sad. He purchased a vest to wear that will stop AK-47 bullets, but when I heard that, it only made me worry more. He has 2 daughters ages 3 and 6. They need him so bad. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts. I think we will need all the help we can get to get him home safe. Sorry to be a downer at this time of year, but needed to talk to someone.

Pokie, I know it won't make you worry any less, but rest assured that there are MANY of us that are thankful everyday that individuals like your sons are willing to risk life and limb to protect us. I grew up in the 60's and 70's, during the Vietnam war. My stepdad was a pilot and eventually a POW. It was very hard for me to understand why people hated him when he came home, and very hard for him as well. I promised myself that I would ALWAYS teach my children respect for miltary personnel. They do not choose where or when to go, they do not set the politics, they just protect our nation no matter what situations we might have gotten ourselves into or who has decided we should be attacked! God bless your son! We will keep you and all the families with loved ones overseas in our daily prayers.
