I just had to say how much I really love my digital camera and printing at home with it on my new printer! I don't know what took me so gosh darn long to go digital, but I am SO glad that I did!

I take what would be potentially bad photos if they were just printed from 35mm film and crop them and or edit them and I turn them into great photos!

I also LOVE the fact that I can resize them to whatever size I want! I really like having at least one photo on each layout a different size, I think it makes a huge difference :)

Sorry...just had to share...

if you are thinking about going digital....DO IT!!

I went digital this year too. I haven't scrapped any of the pictures but I took about 900 on our last WDW trip. I took pictures that I never would have tried without a digital camera. I'm working on putting a web site together.

I like that I can view sort and do much of the work on the computer. I'm not going to print until I'm ready to scrap, I have lots of pics already so I'm not likely to run out soon.

I'm glad I waited until the camera quality was where I wanted it to be but now a really good camera isn't that much money. I took my 35mm to WDW and didn't touch it, I probably still carry it around as a backup but really don't plan on using it.

I love my digital camera, and being able to resize my pictures is the best. Sometimes I just print out a small size of a picture I wouldn't normally use if it were 4x6, to scrap with, I have the picture on the page without it being a major focal point.

We just started clearing out our unfinished basement that we used as a storage area, to make into finished room, and I have been condensing the kids toys and stuff into plastic storage boxes. I have been using the digital camera to take pictures of the box, (Legos) and just put that small printout into the box so we know what set it is, Then I can just delete those shots and I didn't waste any film!

I keep on finding new uses for it!:D

My digital camera will not replace my SLR....

I like it, but the quality is not that of my Nikon N80. Grnated one is a $900 camera and one is a $500 camera, but the quality on the Nikon is much better than my Sony Cybershot DSC-P10. I like the digital, but the delay bums me out, and the action shots come out blurry more times than not....

Favorite Auntie, I do agree that nothing will replace my SLR either( both my SLR and digital are Nikons), I always have both cameras on me, but I love the digital for being able to "play" with my pictures on my computer, and I do take more shots of things I wouldn't normally think of. The delay can be annoying, but then I don't use it when I want to snap off quick pictures.

I love my digital too. I thought it would just be a convenience and not replace my 35 mm, but I haven't taken even a roll of film since I have had my digital. I researched for more then a year before deciding which camera to buy. I asked everyone I saw with a digital (even total strangers) what they liked and disliked about the camera they had.

I also like the ability to print as I go and to crop, zoom and enlarge to what I need and want for the layout I have in mind. I had often wanted to use one Becky Higgins' sketches but hardly ever had the right size photos to go with the sketch.

I am not totally sold on my digital. I do like it but it has some issues...or maybe it is user issues! :p
I like that I can take lots of pictures and play with them. I don't like the lag time or that it doesn't do great in low light. Does amazing in darkness! Granted I probably need to play with it more. But at this point it is the additional camera. I still use 35 MM. One nice thing DH loves the digital so finally their are some shots of me on vacation!

I haven't used my 35mm since the week after I bought our digital. I understand what you are saying about the lag but I've changed the way I take pictures a little to compensate this. I also use my continuous photo feature when I need quick shots. I usually end up taking 30-50 photos this way and delete all the crummy ones but I always end up with good ones. I did this for fireworks in Disney and it worked great! Although, next time I am bringing a tripod!!!:p

I've also been playing around with Photoshop and it's amazing what it can do! I've taken a shot that I would never have used in a SB if it was a 35 mm print (too dark, too much flash, really red eyes etc) and edited it and it looks very close to a perfect picture that I DO use in my SB's!

Spinning,

DH loves the digital so finally their are some shots of me on vacation!

LOL! I hear ya! Last night hubby was looking at my layouts I did yesterday and then he was looking through the whole album and he said "Why aren't there layouts of YOUR birthdays???"
I replied " Cus I am the photographer in the family!"

He was a little mad at himself so he said on my next birthday, he is bringing the camera no matter where we go!

LOL, the only thing I really like doing on my birthdays is go to the movies :)

Oh, actually...now that I am writing this, I totally forgot to put my 30th birthday in my SB!! We spent a night in Banff at the Banff Springs hotel...whoa, gotta go find those pictures!!

Don't get me wrong. I do LIKE the digital camera, and I am glad I bought it. I take a ton more pictures with it, and I know right away if I got the shot. I am not sorry at all that I bought it, I may have opted for a different one knowing what I know now, but I do like it. I LOVE my Nikon N80..... It is actually the camera that the photographers on the Disney Cruise Line use.

I take my memory stick to Walmart and develop the pictures there, and they are pretty darn good! Red eye reduction does not always work though.

Overall I LIKE my digicam.:D

I too have surfaced from the dark ages and I'm starting to figure out my digital. In fact I take my 3 hour class tonight. So I'm hoping I can learn some fun things and figure out the whole memory card thing. I enjoy my new printer too. It is just amazing what you can do!

My friends at Target photo lab sure are going to miss me bugging them to hurry up with the one hour photo! And I won't have to sneak my copyrighted photos in the Kodak maching anymore. My printer and scanner look just as nice. (Just pretend you did not read that;) )

What kind of software does everyone use?? I have the Kodak that came with my camera and the photoimpressions that came with my scanner but I know there is better stuff out there! What do you use!
