Hi There!

I am so excited because DH just told me we may be able to plan a trip to Disneyland. I have had the Disney itch for a while now and am sooo excited it may be scratched :rotfl2: It is not for sure yet, but you know I had to jump on the disboards :rotfl:

The last two visits we went during the Christmas season and we loved it, but thought this time around we would go during a slightly less crowed time. We were thinking of going the last week of Sept or the first week of Oct. Do you think it will be crowded during this time?

Thanks for your thoughts and input!

The last week of September will be less crowded than the first week of October, I think. Once the Halloween party starts in October, I think that will affect the crowds somewhat. Plus, there are other various elements that make October more crowded in its first two weeks (school breaks, various conventions, etc.). If you go in late September, you will still be there for the official HalloweenTime season (minus Mickey's Halloween Party), but with slightly lighter crowds.

Stay tuned to our "Halloween at DL" super thread for late breaking news, discussion, planning info and photos!!

Sounds like the end of Sept is best. I am really trying to avoid high crowds this time around. Thank you for your input, it has been very helpful!:thumbsup2

Keep in mind the first weekend in October is Gay Days. I think its going to be super busy in the parks that weekend. And October 1st is the first halloween party. I didnt plan well and that is when I will be in the parks. Oh well I will just have to embrace the fact its going to be really busy.

We're going the end of September to take advantage of the 5 for 3 deal. :goodvibes. Not sure if that could be of use to you, too or not.

September (after school starts) is a great time to visit DLR. As you get closer to October and Halloweentime starts, the parks do get more crowded. But if you loved the decorations at Christmas you will probably enjoy the Halloween ones as well.

Halloweentime starts on Sept. 17th. (the calendar is up thru 9/18). So it will be more crowded starting on the 17th, but still less so than at Christmas.

Thanks everyone for your input! It was most helpful! I think we will rule out October all together. Now I just need to decide if I want to go last week of Sept or slightly sooner. hmmmmm

The 5 for 3 ends on Sept 26. and you need to book by Sep 1.

Actually the 5 for 3 ends on Sept. 30 not the 26th and you are right about the last day to purchase the 5 for 3 ticket online is on Sept. 1st.

Here is more info on the main website:

• "5-for-3" offer provides each guest with a 5-Day Park Hopper® Bonus Ticket at the regular price of a 3-Day Park Hopper® Bonus Ticket. These tickets entitle Guests to admittance to both Disneyland® Resort theme parks over 5 days, including visits to both theme parks on the same day.

• Tickets may only be purchased between March 16, 2010 and September 1, 2010 and are valid for theme park admission from May 1, 2010 through September 30, 2010.

• The "5-for-3" offer expires 13 days after first use or on October 13, 2010, whichever occurs first.

• Each day of use of a Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Bonus Ticket constitutes one full day of use.

• Park Hopper® Bonus tickets include one Magic Morning admission for early entry into a designated theme park. A Magic Morning early entry admission allows access to a designated Disneyland® Resort theme park before the park opens to the general public. While not available daily, the feature will be available multiple times per week.

So you have to start the 5 days before Sept 30, but you can use the remaining days up until Oct 13th? Am I right in reading it that way? So if our family arrived Sept 30, we could use the next 4 days from Oct 1-Oct 4?

I hate to disagree, but the Disney website states arrivals must be no later than Sep. 26th. You can stay longer but you must arrive no later than Sep 26th.

It looks to me like it clearly states September 30th. Where are you seeing the 26th?

EDIT....

Went to the link above and it states this at the top:

2 Days FREE! Enjoy 5 days of Disneyland® Resort Theme Park admission for the price of only 3 days.

Valid for use from May 1, 2010 through September 29, 2010.

And then below that it says the stuff pasted in mfv's post above.
