Can someone please help me?? This is a dumb question, but I am so confused. My DD4 is nuts about horses/ponies and we were hoping to go to the pony rides at Ft. Wilderness. I previously asked for advice and got two different set of directions...

If we take the boat from MK-- are the pony rides at the old petting farm at Ft. Wilderness?, or are they further away (thus we have to take a bus to them) at the place where the horseback riding begins... I think this is the Ranch?

Thanks so much-- I have never been to Ft. Wilderness and have no clue!

The pony ride is at the old petting zoo, a short walk from the boat dock. Note that a parent/adult leads the pony, NOT the CM. I am pointing this out as I often see apprehensive adults.

Maximum weight is I believe 80 lbs, cost about $3.

My youngest daughter rode Snickers the Pony, who waited for no one. It was kinda embarrassing that Snickers bypassed all the other ponies & children. I was holding the reins but Snickers was certainly in charge. My daughter & my little niece had a blast. :cheer2:
If you get a chance, you should also try the Chip & Dale sing-a-long at FW followed by a movie. You can purchase your marshmallows for the bon fire.
:yay:

So when you say "old petting zoo" does that mean there's a new one or there isn't a petting zoo anymore

There is no more petting zoo. I also think that the person leading the pony must be wearing closed toed shoes. The "petting zoo" is on the back side of the HHR.

- is there a map of FW somewhere, showing where the boat dock is, and all the activities/buildings in the area?

- how long is a $3 pony ride? That's relatively inexpensive, does that mean it is really short?

- Where can I read more info on the Chip and Dale sing a long?

- how much does it cost to rent items (canoe, bike, etc)?

Thanks!

For a map, check out Disney Campers Web site!

The ride is not very long -- it follows a little winding circle, with you leading the pony.

The Campfire Program starts with a sing-along around a big campfire, where you can roast marshmallows (for sale, if you don't bring your own). Chip & Dale walk around, meeting everyone. After the singalong is over, they show a full-length Disney movie on the outdoor screen. The fire keeps going though, for awhile. There are bleachers and benches to sit on. There is also a concession stand, selling ice cream, soda, chips, hot dogs, etc. The program is free to all WDW Resort guests.

Disney Campers has a rental price list here: Rental items

Hope this helps! :)

as of last week the price is now $4.00.....
