I am never going to the grocery store again.

Every time I go to the grocery store things get out of hand and all locked up. Now what am I going to do tonight?

I thought you meant the STORE went on lockdown or something like that. And I had to ask, "Sheesh! Where does she live that so many stores are getting locked down?"

Several years ago, a relative was in a well-known store most of us frequent, during the evening hours. She was about 2/3 of the way toward the back and was there with a friend. Suddenly, they heard a noise and this relative, having been raised in the country, realized it was GUNFIRE! She had a big old cart filled with stuff. She told her buddy to RUN! Buddy was frozen. So she yelled at her to RUN again and then took off pushing that big old cart as fast as she could toward the back exit.

I think she just ran instinctively and since she had her hands on the cart, it went along for the ride. They had to run to the back of the store, where the employees always go to check and see "if the store has item X"....the stockroom or whatever....and then through that to the REAL back door. She said she never slowed her pace and just barreled through every obstacle, cart and all, until she hit the back parking lot and even then, she kept running some more.

I think the gunman did shoot some people, but was eventually tackled and overtaken. They did try to "lockdown" the store, but no one was getting between her (and her cart) and the exit. I am convinced she would have mowed down anyone who tried. It runs in my family......We will escape danger at any cost. If the gunman had been in her way, he'd have had shopping cart tire tracks on his face, but she'd have been out the door.

Now THAT is is the kind of "locked up" I thought you were talking about. Although threads getting locked up is no fun either.
