We are thinking about heading down to the best place in the world. I think that I want to stay offsite this time. We have stayed at POP 3 times now and since our last stay we have added another child. I just don't think it would be much fun to have 4 people in a packed room for a week. I love my children but I think I could love them even more when they get naps and a good night sleep.
I am looking to come next Oct. during the food and wine fest and MNSSHP. I would be me, DH, DS (4 at that time) and DS 2 at the time of travel) I would love to find a place close to disney world with a nice pool and it would be amazing to have a hot tub too. But I would be just as happy if there was a nice community pool too. We might bring a babysitter as well so a 3 bedroom or a decent size 2 bedroom would be perfect any ideas??

I have not stayed here, but have seriously considered the Mike Ditka runaway beach resort. It seems to have really great pricing, and high review from previous travelers. I would also check out the resorts recommended by mousesavers. They inspect all the properties, and post their own reviews, so you might be able to find a nice resort from them. Our last trip we stay at the Vistana, and we found it to be pleasant - but there are so many more resorts to choose from now and we like staying somewhere different each trip. The Embassy Suites might be another place to look into, especially as it comes with breakfast. Hope this was helpful and good luck.

I rented a private pool home for our last stay and I couldn't have been happier.

Sites I used to find it were www.vacationshomes.com and www.vacationrentals.com. We ended up with a 5 bdrm/3 bath private pool home in Clermont. It was about 15 min from WDW main gate. Since we planned to spend time at Busch Gardens and US/IOA too we wanted something that was more inbetween the two. The prices get lower when you get a bit further out too. I rented the home for $700/wk including all taxes and fees, in August, during peak season. While it wasn't fancy it was clean and comfortable and the entire family enjoyed our stay.

A few years back we stayed at the Fairfield Inn on Vineland Avenue (right by Downtown Disney), which is part of the Marriott Village. There's basically a Fairfield Inn, A Marriott Suites and another Marriott brand hotel arranged around a courtyard. There's a nice shared pool, some fast food outlets, a shop, a shuttle to Disney and you're right next door to Bahama Breeze and Golden Corral.

If you google Marriott Village on Vineland Avenue, I am sure you'll find the websites.

I would think one of the suites might be a good option for you? I don't think they're all that expensive when you work the cost out per person. We thought the Fairfield Inn was excellent value, and a really very good room. We would certainly go there again if we ever decided to stay off-site.

Hope this helps!

I actually just posted a thread the other day about how much we love the place we keep renting at WH. During that Oct time of year, you should be able to find a 3BR, 2BA condo for around $100 per night, or a 3BR, 2BA town home for just slightly more. The townhomes come with a 'splash pool' which is about 2 - 3 feet deep, I think. WH has a community pool with hot tub and slides as well. If you look back through the threads on this board, you'll see tons of folks who have had great experiences with different owners at WH. My recommendation is to find someone who was happy and get the information from them about where they rented from. You could always just go to one of the websites (vrbo.com or the like), but to me, nothing is better than word of mouth!

Happy planning!
