I'm looking for a map of the Marriott Grande Vista and a activity list. Do you know where I can find this info.? :confused3

Thank you!!! Do you know what area is he best? We will be spending a lot of time at the resort. I have a 9 and 11 year old who will want to swim a lot.

I have no idea-I've never been there. I just googled the map for you.

We stayed here a few years. We stayed in the 9000 building on the third floor. This building was in the back of the resort. I don't remember much about it but we were close to a pool. There are several pools on the complex so I think you would be close to one no matter where you stayed. The building we stayed in was very quiet. We didn't see or hear anyone the whole week. It's a nice place.

There are four pool areas at the resort - two that are quite large and two smaller area pools that are intended to serve guests who are staying away from those main pool areas and don't want to make the trek to them.

From the resort map, look in the upper left at the pool area marked as R that's surrounded by buildings 79 and 84. That's the newest pool and that group of buildings are the newest at the resort. That's a nice area that features the Copa Loca Bar & Grill (service to the tables at least during the evenings) and a lot of deck chairs around the pool area. There's a childrens' pool with a couple of small towers and water guns and a 'regular' pool. The one drawback, in my opinion, of that area is that, though the pools are good sized, the whole area is relatively compact for the number of people that it's intended to serve. Maybe it's just that there are a lot of lounges, chairs and tables all around.

In the upper right, behind buildings 90-92, there's a standard pool marked as P that I've never seen over-used so usually plenty of swimming space.

Similarly, in the lower right another area pool, marked as Q, is located behind buildings 97 and 98. I think that pool is a little larger than the one at P and also falls into the category of being little-used.

And in the center of the map, marked as O, is the original major pool area that's behind the reservation building (building 80). That area features the Marketplace convenience store, a Pizza Hut Express and, I think, an ice cream place. The main pool there is quite large and there's a nice lap pool there, too. I think that there are a couple of hot tubs there as well.

Though Grande Vista is quite a large resort the main pool at the center of the resort is easily walkable from any building but buildings 80-83 and 93-94 are the best locations for usage of that pool. Note that 93 and 94 are across the resort's main street from the pool area. Also note that parking is at a premium for buildings in this area.

The pool other main pool area is convenient for buildings 77-79 and 84-86 and is a short walk across the bridge over the lake from buildings 81-83 (and 80, I suppose). Lots of parking available for these buildings.

Parking also seems to be a slight problem (meaning that the people coming in late from the theme parks might not find a convenient parking space) for the other two areas of the resort.

Despite parking, we like staying in the buildings near the golf clubhouse (buildings 95-100). The furthest building, building 99, has a nice view of the golf course form the balconies, has that nice area pool just across the parking lot and is a relatively short (maybe 7 or 8 minutes) walk to the main pool (at O).

I'd suggest one of the buildings in the main pool area to give your children easy access to both major pool areas without having to cross any of the streets at the resort.

Enjoy your stay.

Are you an owner of a Marriott timeshare, or will you jsut be renting? I stayed here recently for one night, and in my research, people said that usually the Main Village buildings are saved for owners.

We must have lucked out, because we got a first floor studio in bldg 93. Maybe it was just becasue we were only staying one night. We got there pretty early (came basically from the cruise ship). We wanted to check in just so we could use the amenities, didn't need a room right away. At first she said we would have to get our room later, but then she checked and gave us that one. Main pool area was right across the parking lot, which is why we were there, so it was perfect!!

Very nice place. I hope to make it back soon for a longer stay.

We went through Interval.

Dick- do we need to ask for a room that has been remodeled or are they all ok? We usually stay at the Vistana Villages and even the older rooms are nice so we request room location only. I wanted to try a new resort but my kids wanted to stick to the VV. I hope they like it or I'll hear it.
So you think units 80, 81, 79 or 84.

The Grande Vista resort is older than the Vistana Villages resort but the west village at Grande Vista was built at about the same time that VV was originally being developed, if memory serves me. Full refurbishment of the older GV villas began in early 2008 so I suspect that they're now completed or nearly completed. We've never stayed in a refurbed unit and have been very happy anyway.

We were at VV for the first time in December and liked it but I'll admit that I prefer the Marriotts. But be aware that, in my opinion, Vistana does a better job of trying to satisfy villa location requests than they do a Grande Vista (sister Orlando Marriott resort Cypress Harbour staff goes the extra yard to satisfy guests' requests but not so at GV). We've stayed at Grande Vista three or four times through II exchanges and have never had a location request satisfied.

I'd be as broad as possible with a building request - if you want to stay near the pool at Copa Loca I'd suggest requesting any of the buildings over there (77-79, 84-86) and if you want to be near the Village Center pool then ask for any of those buildings near the center of the resort (80-83) though the last that I'd heard a few months ago was that building 80 had not yet been refurbished.

Marriott doesn't have a program like Vistana's Diamond Lane so you'll have to call the resort a few weeks before your check-in date to make your request (I think that they make the villa assignments about three weeks before check-in). Call them at 407-238-7676.
