I Am Just About Sick Right Now. Can My Reservation Be Fixed???

Techinically this is a friend's reservation, but I am helping her, and I'm going to tell it as if I were her. The only reason I'm giving that information upfront is because, as you can see, I've been to WDW quite a few times.

Okay. I booked a room only reservation. I got my reservations, and I start to think that I want to do the dining plan. There are a lot of options that would be great for my family. So, I call reservations and tell them I want to add the dining plan. They tell me I can't just add it, that I have to cancel my reservation and make a new one that includes the dining plan. So, I don't do anything for the moment. I decide I want to make sure that I can get all of my reservations for my family. So, I call and make ALL of my reservations for my dining plans. Then I ordered my tickets to get those done with. Then I call back to reservations, and they tell me that the package includes room, tickets, and dining. But, wait, I just ordered my tickets five minutes ago, I don't need tickets. Well, then I can't book a package. And, I can't do the dining plan. I can call ticket service, but they are closed and won't be open until Monday.

Is there anything that I can do??? Will Disney come through with a little Pixie Dust if I call ticket services on Monday morning right as soon as they open and tell them I need to cancel my tickets? I am willing to pay, in full, for the package, but if I can't do the package, then I can't do the dining part either.

They can get one day base tickets for everyone to get the package. Then save them for another trip.

safetymom is right! You must have the room/tickets/dining together, but they only require one day's worth of passes for your group. Make the reservation like that and add on the no expiration option for those one day passes and save them for the future!!!!! Who knows how much one day passes with cost in the future! You'll be ahead of the game! Don't Stress Out! It's really an easy fix!

I thought I read on here you didn't need the no expiration option on one day passes.....you either just use them then or don't and save them for a future trip.

They aren't ever planning on going back again. She has five kids. She's been saving for quite awhile for this trip.

Then they could sell them to someone. They don't need the no expiration feature. Other than that you will need to hope someone can do something for you on Monday.

I accidently did that. I ordered a 5 day base ticket for 2 people. I called back and stopped them when I found out adding a 6th day on was only $2.00 . Your one day base ticket will be running you $67. Who did you order from. If it was any broker, they will take back the tickets, same with WDW.

I didn't even think about that! If you don't use the ticket it can't expire 14 days later!!!! ha ha ha...duh! But to get the package w/dining she needs to also purchase at least one days worth of passes. If she can return the ones she already bought...then great! If not...hold on to the one days for a future trip. Having a large family doesn't mean she'll never go again in her life. I have 3 kids and it's costing us a small fortune...and i know even more so for a family with 5 kids. Kids grow up and move out....perhaps she and her hubby can leave them with grandma and swoop down to disney for their anniversary sometime...who knows!!!! I just think this will all work itself out for her!

If you buy one day tickets with the package, do not have each person use them and also use tickets you bought separately. A tremendous waste of money compared with adding enough days onto just one ticket per person for the whole vacation. You can add days after you get there.

Unused tickets can be transferred, although not scalped (sold for much more than list price (gate price).

You can book the package with dining and one day tickets now and then on Monday see if you can cancel the separate order for tickets. If that works, then cancel the room only reservation and modify the package to have longer tickets.

#1 best case senario, Advise her to try and return the tickets she purchased, if they were purchased through Disney and she is changing to the package they "may" be able to help her out. If they are through a broker many will let you return them if they are unopened. I just got mine through UCT and the mailing indicates that if I have not opened the plastic pouches they came in I can return them.

#2 pretty good case senario. Advixe her to purchase the 1 day non hopping tickets with the package and save them. Chances are someone will be willing to purchase them from her at some point. You mentioned that you travel to WDW often perhaps even you on some trip can use them or even trade them in toward a longer MYW or an AP.

Otherwise if the 1 day tickets are a real deal breaker then she may have to consider cancelling the dining and going back to a room only.

Just an update. My friend called today and spoke to someone about the tickets. She got it all taken care of. The lady that canceled her tickets was quite rude to her and when she asked my friend where she was staying my friend replied and asked if she wanted the reservation number. The lady said no, she just wanted to make sure that she had all her plans straight now.

But, the lady she called about the package apologized left and right and said that they have a lot of new people there and that they don't know all of the details.

So, problem solved. Thanks for the advice from everyone.

I'm glad she was able to get it all straightened out. I had read your thread but didn't have any advice -- so I am happy it all worked out! :thumbsup2

(Sorry she had to go thru a rude person to get what she needed; let's just put it down to someone having a bad day -- )
