I received a PM today that I received an infraction. I am sorry for writting here but I was unable to reply back to said message.

I was docked points for supposedly soliciting a DIS board member to post personal info to an outside site. This accuzation is false. In my message I told the DIS board member that ort group was quite active on facebook and what activities had been set up there. The DIS user had stated she does not use FB so I told her the to PM kiwimom (that is the username of the disboard member). That member is keeping track of these activities. I never asked or told her to go to facebook.

I would like for my infraction to be reviewed and removed for I feel I did not break the DIS boards cruise meet fish extender rules.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing back from you. Again sorry for posting here I did not know where else to post

Sadly a lot of us are getting points for this. I got it because I wasn't aware of the FB rule and told someone who wanted to join but not spoil the surprise for her kids that I would add her to the FE if she PM me her information and I got in trouble. Basically unless the FE and all activities are being openly run on Disboards you are not allowed to even mention the stuff. It is really killing the cruise meet threads IMO.

As an added thought... Does this mean we cannot even mention the word facebook? As an example. could I say this? "Thank you for joining our group. As of right now we have a FE group, ornament exchange and private mixology class set-up. Feel free to PM me if you would like to participate in any of these groups. Also, If you are interested our DIS meet also has a group on facebook. Thanks again for joining us we look forward to planning with you :-)" so can I say that or no?

From my understanding you can not mention any facebook groups or even anything hosted on a site other than disboards. This means we can no longer use google docs for fish extenders and mixology. You can only use an edited post on a disboards meet up board as a place to keep a list.

No, you can't use the DIS to promote or recruit members for Facebook or other sites. This includes posting links to FB, as well as saying "PM me for info on our FB group."

There are several reasons, notably that many of the FB groups are run by or infested with travel agents. We've also had several instances where the self-appointed owners of the FB pages have excluded some DIS members for various reasons, then the drama comes back here.

Other sites like Cruise Critic have needed to implement similar guidelines. The cruise meets threads on the DIS should be for DIS posters, open to ALL DIS posters, and adhere to our DIS posting guidelines.

No, you could not post that. You cannot direct DIS posters to your FB site.

Im confused... I never asked her to PM me to join FB. I asked her PM me her info so she could be added to the FE list. I only stated our DIS group also had a FB group. Not once did I say you need to join or come over and post personal information. In my fictional post the dis member would have to find said group on their own. The rule states that I cannot lure members to other sites. Can you please explain how in my statement then I was luring them? The does not said groups cant be mentioned. To me luring means typing an offer to join or offering a link. In the fictional text no such action took place. The person was addded to our FE list which is filled with DIS members and I said I look forward to planning with you. How is that wrong? Such was the case for my infraction. The person stated they do not use FB and I said no big thing we have many things planned for our group, meaning our dis group. Told her what they were and told her what dismember in our cruise meet board to PM to get added to the list. I dont understand.

Never in the text did it say PM for the facebook info. It said PM your info to get added to the FE. Never did it say you must or should come join our FB group. It stated it existed if that person was interested they could search for it on their own. Never in any text did I type did I recruit for facebook, stating of a groups existence is not recruitment, if you dont want the words facebook said then that should be what the rule says. The way it is written now does not prohibet a group being mention. The word luring itself is an action. No action was taken or asked of in my text.

If you want to discuss specifics, have you messaged the moderator who issued the infraction to ask about it? Start with that, and then you can email admin@wdwinfo.com it you have additional comments or questions about infractions or any moderating decisions.
