However there is one challenge that the US must face is restoring a government in an era where the notion of the so called state is becoming a memory much less an illusion. This concept as e xplored is known as the 'deterioration of the state' to borrow the term. If the state as we know it is in dissaray it would be very difficult for the US to import democracy and her capitalist values in Iraq without facing steep and questionable resistance.
There is another way of looking at things what about the onging effects of the so called impending tachnological revolution which can undo the political balance and status quo already in our country.
If the WTC disaster meant anything it meant that high tech means is the way of the world as the need to unleash certain energies must come through. As computers gets faster and faster so to the environmental and social harm from its waste g ets greater. The sniper incident in DC is reminiscent of the fact.
