Okay so I decided to buy 50 more points and we had to sign our contracts over again which is normal, but as I was signing, I started getting a bunch of reservation cancellation notification emails! 6 in total!

They cancelled my welcome home stay, AULANI trip, fourth of july, pretty much almost everything i had on my vdh contracts! No warning this was going to happen! My dashboard is all screwed up too with an incorrect amount of points and my reservations have still vanished hours later, is this normal???

I dont know what to do, should i try to rebook some things?? How long does it take for this to correct???I know theyre doing something, but why cancel my reservations?? MS is closed now and I dont know if ill sleep tonight I am going insane 🤯😵‍💫😔

Just to clarify, were the reservations you booked inclusive of the points in the contract you have recently signed and are now amending to include more points?
 
Okay so I called them and they told me that the reservations were being put "on hold" for me and as soon as they are done they will restore them. Some communication about this prior would have been nice! I thought one of my waitlists went thru and I was all happy when I got the cancellation notification and then I went and waitlists were there and no reservation and then my other reservations started disappearing one by one🤣

Then I got really excited because the dashboard was showing me as having 740 vdh points or something wild in one year 🤣🤣
Perhaps a nice welcome home gift?? 🤣🤣

So I figured out that the 150 point contract i cancelled and new 200 point one is sitting in my dashboard combined with banked points from the cancellations and whatever else . Both contracts are sitting on my dash board and im able to book things with it but im not going to because they will probably just cancel them again.

When I got the 200 points showing before this fiasco I booked a couple stays which got my guide freaking out and telling me to sign the contract now that her regional manager didnt like that I wad already booking stuff and using points idk 🤣🤣 So unorganized like I always say. The reservations i booked on the new points didnt get cancelled i noticed so yes it makes sense they are cancelling reservations I booked from the 150 point contracts, I just dont know why it takes days to restore them, im pretty irritated I cant book anything it feels like im being punished for buying more. I think having a three way split is making it take longer.

Anyways its still messed up and they told me it might take a couple days to fix. Ive never heard of this happening to anyone else and I didnt screenshot any reservations prior because I didnt expect this to happen. I dont know all my dates tbh just know that they cancelled 6 of them and the reservation numbers are on the email so hopefully it can be figured out with no issue, what a mess!

MS chat of course was arguing with me that I requested to combine reservations so they were working on merging everything (makes no sense these were different reservations) so I gave up on that and called quality assurance and they told me it will be okay. Im still scared but feel a little better 😌
 
Geez. You are an example of they might consider no point use on a direct contract until at least rescind period ends.

Great news on what is really going on with all the cancelations and your dashboard. My advice is get it all signed, clear the quality control, set for closing and deed filing immediately. (Are you reconsidering Title Insurance?). No more playing the point numbers and incentives scenarios.

Sending my positive vibes, this all gets adjusted smoothly. (Only you could make going resale look more appealing 🤣).
 
I can understand the no communication - it probably never occurred to them that someone would start ‘spending’ points on a 200 point contract before they’d even signed the paperwork to buy said contract let alone paid for it & are w/in the 10 day recission period - what if you changed your mind (as you’ve been known to do,) what if your funds or financing didn’t come through.
Frankly, it sounds like a complicated mess - you have reservations you want to keep that you used points to book from the 150 contract you never bought because you canceled it. Then, rather than waiting for those reservations to be held for you & the points from the new 200 contract to be used for them, you hop on the website & start making even more reservations w/ points from the 200 pt contract you haven’t even legally agreed to buy.
It’s the kind of frenzied churn I could see triggering fraud alerts.
Have any reservations you’ve made with your other contracts that you bought previously & actually own been canceled? Or is it just reservations that you’ve made w/ the 2 new contracts neither of which you own ATM (the 150 canceled & the 200 not signed for yet)?

I believe she's also used some points for a stay a week ago. It's crazy to me that the system even lets people use and complete stays before the contract closes.

Ive already used points and they had no issues with it and ive paid scheduled deposits early so I think this is all just a mess because I wasnt supposed to be eligible for this member rate early and there's all these different people involved and perhaps miscommunication.

They didnt tell me I cant use the points early buy I did borrow and use them before my use year even started, if they told me not to I wouldnt have. I get kind of why im a red flag, but I have three other resorts that ive never not paid or had issues with.

But another thing they didnt like is that I havent even paid my first annual dues yet, that comes out on the 15th so I can see why theyre a bit worried but I would never do anything to compromise my dvc! I havent paid them yet bexause i cant pay the monthly pay early or else i would its sitting there waiting to be taken out lol

Ofc I know that but they dont and it seems like my guide is really going out on a limb for me and trusting me so I take that trust serious and I am putting 20 percent down and not 10 even tho I was going to do that anyways I just want them to see that im not untrustworthy.

Florida guides would not do all this for me. She said that every time I change something, such as the way I want to split the contracts, its all the hoops of approval again. To me it is worth it tho not having to wait the two months. Im sure they weren't crazy about the 75 days I requested to pay my deposit either

I said that too im like I think im the only person that can say that buying direct points has been a mess lolll

I signed everything, paid all my monthly deposits on time, done everything right. I think its a risk theyre taking and theyre a little hesitant but they wont regret it lol
 
Are there still email confirmations with reservation numbers and point use? I’d rebuild from there.
Yes there is thank God. I will call them a little later to track the progress. They completed one of the three contracts on the new one
 
I'm curious about the stay you already took on the other contract. Will they deduct those points from this new one?
Im sure they will, I dont see them letting that slide, I didnt think about that but that could be an issue that helped create the mess lol. Literally after I booked new reservations with the added points my guide called me and told me to please sign now that her regional manager saw that im booking stuff and is pressuring her for me to sign 🤣🤣 I wasnt trying to drag my feet it had only been a day I was just reading everything carefully because the math breakdown she gave me thru email had been wrong and wanted to make sure my deposit credits were correct and all names spelled correctly on all three

Well I did sign the paperwork on the 150 points I signed earlier before I started spending them lol. But now it changed to new contracts with different contract numbers cuz I added more so yeah im really thinking thats where the mess is coming from I think I used them within 3 days of signing but inwas never told I couldnt 🙈🙈

I didn't see it as me cancelling the 150 poont contract i had no idea what its like behind the scenes I thought i was just adding 50 more to the current contracts. Which they obviously wanted me to add 50 more or at least my guide did!

Im def not changing my mind. I had no idea i had to wait for the reservations to be held for me and I was migrating to new contracts, this is not my fault. They need to tell me not to do things. The reservations I booked on the new contract are for 11 months out and Thanksgiving weekend, I hopped on that because I didnt want them to be taken and I was told when id get my points to use so why would I think I cant book?? Ive never heard of all this before. Again, communication wojld have been great for my situation. Im not trying to pull a fast one on anyone I didnt know and theyre not telling me im doing anything wrong still.
