:confused3 I am confused I read on here over and over that Disney offers free dinning to fill rooms. If this is true why is free dinning being offered thru Dec 22. If I was to arrive on the 22nd I could get free dinning through New Years which is the busiest week of the year, so its not needed to fill rooms. What are your thoughts.:confused3

They need to fill rooms specifically for those check-in dates.

They wont let you get it if you check in on Christmas Eve. Most guests do that and stay a week.

:confused3 I am just going by the crowd calenders that have crowds in the red and even purple

Crowd calendars have nothing to do with it. Just because the parks are crowded does not mean the resorts are up to the occupancy level they want. They want to encourage people to check into Disney resorts on those particular dates.

Also you may be able to check in on the 22nd and get it for your whole stay but they will only offer it in resorts and room categories that they need to fill. Popular resorts will not have free dining availability or very very limited so you won't necessarily be able to get the free dining unless you are willing to move to a resort where they have a need to fill rooms.

You won't get it at AoA or POFQ. Also someone posted earlier that they were not able to get anything at WL. They don't need to fill those rooms.

And although parks may close to capacity during Christmas that doesn't mean even half of those ppl are staying in Disney rooms. They want more ON SITE guests.

This thread sort of touches on a question I have....

Is it possible to check in a day AHEAD of the free DDP windows and get it for the entire stay?

We are booked 8/2/13 - 8/8/13 at CSR with the free DDP. We just recently found out though that if we could be in FL one day early we could visit family who have travel plans as well (the will be coming off a cruise).

We could easily stay off-site and move the next day but if the DDP would be made available to us on the 1st we may as well just stay onsite rather than moving hotels.

I know it's a long-shot on this actually being possible but I figured, nothing asked -- nothing gained!

Do this. Or you could even split your stay at your Disney resort into a 1 day reservation + a reservation for the rest of the vacation. You'd get free dining for the rest of your stay. You'd have to check out and then check back in again, but at least you'd get the free dining.

Basically you only get free dining if you check-in on any of the dates in which the promotion is being offered (if it's available, of course). It doesn't matter when you check out, you get free dining for the duration of your stay.
