by the Mary Kay lady. A lady I sold a home to, is a Mary Kay rep. She gave me some free samples. She asked if she could call me to see how I liked them. She has been calling me ever since to set up a time to give me a facial.I don't want a facial. I don't have time. I just want the moisturizer. She keeps calling, calling, calling, even after I tell her no. I am thinking about asking her if she wants to become a real estate agent and work out of my office.

Oh just wait. See what happens when you buy one thing from her. Then she'll be hounding you to become a rep.

Yup, she will. And when/if you'll host a party for her, How many people will be there. *eye roll*

:confused3 so how do I get the moisturizer without becoming a victim?

I was a MK consultant and I would have never stalked anyone. She must be caught up in the hype of getting her business going. Just tell her that you only want the moisturizer (or whichever products you want) and if she can't/won't sell them to you w/o a facial, you will find another consultant. I'm not one of those pushy people so what she is doing is something I would not have done but I also don't take crap off people either so I'd stand up for myself.

Also an Mk lady, I guess, but I just buy for myself. lol What kind of moisturizer do you need? I might actually have it. :lmao: Your post made me :rotfl2: I'm sorry you are having trouble. Most of the Mary Kay ladies are not like that. She must be a real "go-getter." :teeth:

ETA: I am not trying to offer any "services." I'm not selling anything or wanting to sell anything in the future. :teeth:

A friend of mine used to sell MK. Don't know if this is still true (or if it was ever at all!), but she told me that she could not sell a new customer just the Timewise Moisturizer, she had to sell the whole 3 piece kit. Once you bought the kit, then you could buy the individual pieces. I had asked her because I had purchased the whole kit (the old stuff before they switched to Timewise), but I only wanted the moisturizer (didn't like the rest).

Now I use Olay Age Defying Renewal Cream (actually the CVS generic version unless Olay's on sale), so I don't need the MK moisturizer! :teeth: I do use the MK eye shadow, blush and lip gloss. I like these a lot; they are more expensive, but they last a really long time.

Usually I have the opposite problem: MK reps who are desperate to sell me moisturizer. I don't need it. I have the most oily skin anyone, including my dermatologist has ever seen. All the MK reps tell me "EVERYONE needs moisturizer" but my dermatologist and I beg to differ. Using it only compounds the problem and makes my skin break out. Even if it's oil free or made for oily skin, forget it. Having very pale porcelain skin MK make up is usually too intense for me so they don't have much to offer me. I'll go to the party if it's someone I know well and maybe pick up some hand lotion but lord, getting rid of them after that is a nightmare  You have my sympathies.

My MIL use to have a pushy MK lady. MIL said my DH (when he was 4) told her one day, "we hide from you"! :teeth:

I'm convinced that one of the director's in my Pampered Chef group is like this. I think she'd try to sell a meat tenderizer to a vegan and she wouldn't take no for an answer. I stopped going to meetings at her house because I thought she was insane. And she doesn't seem to like the idea that my pampered chef business is a hobby for me and not my life's work.

I'd probably tell her straight out that if she didn't stop the hard sell that I'd find someone else who could give me just what I need.

Check eBay.

YEP!! This was going to be my suggestion too! I would rather pay a little more or pay shipping than have to deal with the stalker!!

Tell her if you cannot just get a moisturizer you will have to try Avon. Does Mary Kay have a website like Avon that you can buy with out going through a rep? I finally got rid of my Mary Kay lady, told her I started selling Avon. She was calling me almost weekly.

LOL!! I used to get attacked by this Mary Kay lady at the school. She used to tell me that I would be the perfect model for her to use to enter a Mary Kay contest and wanted to bring me to a contest to apply make up so she could win a trip. I told her "no" hundreds of times. Luckily, my kids changed
schools and I hadn't seen her until recently when she popped out at me
behind a gas pump at the gas station. I jumped and was scared to death because I hadn't seen her there. She started in about how she liked the color of my lipstick and wanted to know If I wanted any Mary Kay products. :rotfl2:

A few years ago a Mary Kay woman used to stalk me.

It got so bad she used to come into my work and haress me.

I one day I told her both my parents died and make up was the last thing on my mind and I would call her when things were better. Yes I lied it was wrong, but I was 19. She ended up sending me a gift basket (of make up) and flowers, and still hounded me.

I few weeks later I lied to her and said I loved the make up so much I became a Mary Kay rep. I ended up changing my phone numbers because of her and requesting a transfer to another department at work.
