I sold and was paid for a lot on eBay about three weeks ago for a modest amount. Now I have a message from the buyer saying they are filing a claim against me. Why? When I check the delivery notice it disappeared on the 2nd August. I can't even file a complaint as the delivery company is French and wants French phone numbers to make said claim. And until I get the money back and reimburse the buyer, my account is on hold.

Gah!

I’m sorry… that sounds like a huge hassle, in part this is the reason I’ve never attempted to sell on eBay. Good luck!

Did you ship this via the ebay Global Shipping Program? Meaning you shipped it to a US location and they then forwarded it to the international location? If so, as long as the item made it to their global shipping location, I believe you still get paid for the item and aren't out anything. We had an issue a few years ago shipping a baking dish to Australia. The dish broke in transit and the buyer filed a claim. I can't remember how we handled it, but we didn't file a claim with the shipping company at all. It was all handled through the EBay claim process. We still received full payment for the item and I assume the buyer was reimbursed also.
