I am an idiot. Need ipod shuffle help.

I got an ipod shuffle for my birthday. I downloaded songs into it. It wouldn't work, so I redownloaded the songs. It still won't work. I must be doing something wrong. Help me please.

I can't get the ipod to play. The battery is charged. It has been formatted. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I can't get it to play at all, yet. I know the earbuds work, because I am using them now. I tried to lock and unlock the buttons.

Yep. I am not even getting white noise. Nothing

When the volume is up, you dont get any white noise. I dont know because I have a Ipod mini

When you hit play does the green light on the front light up for a moment? What about the green light on the back? If you press the last battery section on the back do you get a green light?

Are you sure that the songs actually transferred?

Are you sure the songs are being transfered via iTunes?

Have you turned it on? You need to slide the white pad until it shows green. Making the light come on does not turn on the shuffle.

yeah, my suggestion is plug it back into your computer and check itunes to make sure the songs actually transferred. click on the shuffle icon in the side bar of itunes. if there are songs in there, they transferred.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. I ended up talking online with a service rep who walked me through it. I did not restore it properly and had to restore it again. It plays now. Thank you all again for all your help.
