I-95 Speed Traps?

Hi, we are driving down to WDW in Sept and noticed a post on another board that mentioned cameras being used along I-95 in DC and SC for speed enforcement. The post mentioned receiving a ticket in the mail for going 11 mph over the limit.

Does anyone know if these camera enforced speed traps are in a specific location, or are they able to be moved? Also, are these speed traps marked with any warning signs, ie, 'Speed Enforced by Camera'.

We did the drive last year and didn't see any 'Camera Traps', nor did I receive any tickets when I got home. I consider myself a safe driver and try to stay within 10 mph of the posted speed limit, especially in a work zone. I don't want to jeopardize my clean driving record by 'keeping up with the flow of traffic' on I-95, which is frequently well above the posted speed limits, only to find a ticket waiting for me when I get home.

I don't own a GPS or SmartPhone with a speed trap App. Thanks in advance and please feel free to point me in the right direction if this topic has been covered elsewhere.

Usually around DC people get hit with the state trooper helicopter, but that's not until you get into VA. You'll see big black signs all over about speed checked that way, but I think in all the years since VA has owned the helicopter I've only seen it in southern VA once.

Be careful on the north side of Balt. near the split for the tunnels, if you see an electronic sign posting your speed the camera is a few hundred feet later, also south of Laurel a couple of miles after exit 33 there is another spot.

You'll see more speed traps in VA than the rest of the states combined, keep it slow there.

The camera is.still up in ridgeland sc but per state law the ticket must be delivered in person by an officer of the police department issuing the ticket.
In effect only people who live in or near ridgeland will be getting tickets now.

The Ridgeland, SC camera is usually set up under the bridge, near mile marker 21 on I-95.

VA. is the state where you want to watch your speed. I was pulled over doing 81 in a 70. It was a $200 fine and a misdermeaner...
