We are driving from Atlanta, GA to Jupiter, FL and I am trying to determine which has less traffic the FL turnpike or I-95. We took the turnpike before and the congestion from the toll stops was terrible, added quite a bit of time. I am debating trying to get on I-95 around JAX. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If it helPs, when I lived in Florida (brevard county), on any trip south, I'd hop on the turnpike at my earliest opportunity, Fort Pierce. I just find it more zippy to head south. But it will cost you.

We have a sunpass---so that factors into our decision.

95 isnt that bad though unless there has been a major collision somewhere. Pretty much south of daytona is smooth sailing all the way to west palm, unless there is an accident. At least in my experiences after 13 years living on the 95'corridor.

Oh...and take 295'around Jacksonville. You may catch some of NAS Jax rush hour though...so be aware of your time of day when you do this.

Thanks Lisa Loves Pooh, I remeber the tolls being rather high on the turnpike. The traffic was awful near the toll booths, although it was a holiday. The time seems about the same, we plan on leaving Atlanta very early to avoid the rush hour spots. I might take 95 to just avoid the tolls. I appreciate your input.
