I-75 construction? closures?

We are headed to FL on Wednesday and considering taking I-75 instead of our usual I-77/I-95 route.

Any construction or closures we need to be aware of before making our decision???

Also I know to stay south of Atlanta on the way down, what about headed back up I-75, what would be the suggestion on when to hit Atlanta on a Saturday? and where to stay?

We just came back from WDW. The construction zones are fewer and shorter than they have been in the past. We had no problems. Just watch your speed and you should be fine.

Others will need to answer your other questions. We typically travel though ATL at either about 7am or 7pm so we are able to avoid most traffic issues.
Tripadvisor.com is a good source for hotel reviews.

You can tune to 750am or 95.5fm (WSB radio) for frequent traffic updates.

Beware of I75 in TN. The SB lanes collapsed just south of the KY state line. They have made crossover lanes so 1 lane is open SB now, but still hear of very long backups, especially on the weekends.

If you have the option of 77/26/95 vs 75, definitely take the 77/26/95 route south. They have 2 lanes open north, so you should have minimal delay.
