I’m trying to use Go Port for Fort Lauderdale with five people which includes 2 handicaps and I can’t afford the $1000. Disney offers 2 two rooms and transportation by using Disney hotel offer in Fort Lauderdale. Need to get it closer to $400 like I paid in 2020 when we went on RC from Fort Lauderdale. I’m stretched really thin for this trip and already will not be including any adventures for this trip. Just walk off and walk back to the ship(scooter and wheelchair).
We normally go off-season but struggled with an unbending schedule.
Am I doing it wrong? Can anyone tell me why I can’t get Dream on 12/18 from Go Port? I’m looking for Fort Lauderdale Hotel the night before and transportation.

I used this exact service for the same 5 people with Royal Caribbean in 2020 got the whole thing less than $400. But no information about Disney Dream even at the port.

From what airport? Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) is a 3 hour drive (200 miles or so) from the Orlando airport (10 minutes between the Fort Lauderdale airport, FLL, and Port Everglades).

Hotels during the season can be expensiv. A hotel that is $125 in low season could easily be $300 or more during the season,

Trying to get the hotel and Transport package. Nobody is able to work with my air that we used. But that’s not a problem for us. Because it works out well since it’s a direct flight to FFL and they apparently don’t work with package’s because it’s super cheap.

We got our own cab from the airport to the hotel the night before. And the hotel at Fort Lauderdale held the five of us in a handicap room that had two king beds and a pull out sofa single sleeper. I hope to do the exact same plan.
But Go Port shows no ships that leave that day.

The Dream is sailing from Portt Everglades, NOT Port Canaveral, in December 2023. Port Canaveral is near (an hour) from Orlando/MCO Airport.

Port Everglades us at Fort Lauderdale.

I don’t think GoPort serves For Lauderdale. GoPort DOES serves Orlando/Sanford/Melbourne/Port Canaveral. Ate you seeing an option for Fort Lauderdale at the GoPort website?

I should add that if you are looking for wheelchair—accessible transport where the rider remains in their wheelchair or scooter, there are very few good resources.

I strongly advise using any opportunity provided by your cruise line when sailing into Fort Lauderdale on transfers from the cruise to the airport if you or someone in your party must remain in their chair making sure to properly indicate that one needs a wheelchair.

(FYI: Go Port has changed its service in Orlando. You now Have to get from the hotel to the airport to catch the port shuttle. This change was in effect in JNuary 2023.)

For your Dec 18 sailing from Fort Lauderdale, it appears that GoPort does not offer bundled services (room + transport) for that area. They do offer transportation services. Probably because most hotels are just within 10 miles of the port.

Found this on Cruise Critic from February 2023.

You might be piecing this trip together on your own.

Did you get a hotel room already - or were you talking about one you had on your previous trip?

Uber WAV is not listed as being available in Fort Lauderdale. Miami is listed.

WAV is not listed as available in Fort Lauderdale. but Miami is on the list of supported cities.

But just because a city is listed may not mean service is actually available across the city. I live in the city ic Austin, within city limits). Uber says it serves Austin with WAV vehicles, but the only time I can get one at home is if they have just given a ride to someone in me neighborhood- where the driver normally waits fir calks is outside the “zone” the Uber spo looks at when I request a pickup.

If you are getting a cab from the airport to the hotel, why not just arrange for the same company to get you to the port in the morning?

Everything in Ft Lauderdale is fairly close.

And arrange for them to get you from the port after the cruise.

Embassy Suites on 17th St Ft Lauderdale has a 2double beds + sofa (they say sleeps 5; double beds, really?) h/a with roll-in shower for Dec 17 x1 night for <$290 incl tax. Breakfast included. This rate allows cancellation until 5 days pre-arrival. There are cheaper and more expensive rates.

Even 2 taxis + this room would be well under $1000.

I just randomly picked Embassy Suites, as I know they have a bedroom + living room in many of their rooms. Found it on google.

There are 4 ships departing in Dec 18, 2023. DO NOT WAIT to book hotel. Book something as soon as you can. It is very likely hotel prices will go up significantly. That has been the trend. Just don’t book a prepaid rate early. Easier to cancel if you find a good deal later, but sad to miss out on a decent rate because you put it off. I know from experience.

Have you looked at the same hotel you used in 2020? Do you remember the cab company you used?

Tru by Hilton offers 1King or 2 Queen rooms w roll-in showers for $213 tax incl for Dec 17. Tru hotels are a more entry-level hotel, but are new. You would need 2 rooms of these. But bigger beds than Embassy Suites. I think Hotel-wise, you have a fair number of choices if booking now.

I used Go Port from Fort Lauderdale in January 2020 when I went on Royal Caribbean. Can’t find the paperwork/email for using them so I can see the hotel name. Ugh. Maybe they stopped serving Fort Lauderdale since Covid. Also we were able to have the scooter in the luggage area of transportation we used. I hope we will be able to do this for a while though.

This will be the first time I don’t use Disney. I called and they only had the hotel portion available but still working on transferring info. I could wiggle out about $150 extra for the first hotel room but it’s the second room that just puts it $500 more than I have.

I so badly want to have the same hotel but can’t find the email. I’ve searched so many ways in my emails “Fort Lauderdale” “Go Port” “Hotel Cruise”…. I get too many emails from every travel site. And I can’t find any information from around the time I traveled. I suspect I was cleaning my email and dumped the ebill.

I took a cab from FLL airport cab line to hotel (It could have been hotel shuttle too)
But the Hotel and Bus was a package deal from Go Port from what I remember. I got a letter from front desk telling us when we needed our things at the concierge desk.

A fair number of hotels in Fort Lauderdale either directly operate or otherwise provide shared shuttle services to Port Everglades (one notable exception is The Riverside, but caba or uber/lyft/etc are available). A very few may include the shuttle, most charge between $5 and $15 per passenger, some may charge more. I am not aware of any shuttle that can accommodate a power wheelchair user or someone that cannot climb stairs or get into a van.

My suggestion. Start from scratch. Book everything yourself. Find a company that can handle your wheelchair and scooter. (Are you bringing the scooter or havingone delivered to the ship?). Remember, you could get two vehicles, each holding one piece of equipment if they cannot accommodate both pieces in one.

If there is a budget, Disney may not be the way to go. There are so many hotel options in Ft Lauderdale. Just don’t wait until they start raising prices.

The only hotel-like entity in Fort Lauderdale that is major brand ir similar that I can think of that might have two kings is the Pelican, which is a fair hike from the sirport and Port Everglades, and is directly on the beach.

Embassy suites has doubles or queens. Riverside doesn‘t have suites/accommodate 5. Obviously, there are more hotels than the few I mentioned.

You inferred you had at least one scooter. Is there another device involved? Can the users of any/all equipment get into a regular car? Can they get ibtona van? Can they ascend/descend bus stairs? That will
influence your transportation needs.

I believe GoPort does not typically have a space between the “o” and tge “p.” Thqt would qffext searching. You might qlso search your sent mail folder(s).
