My wife and I have a room only reservation (DVC Rental) for the first 3 days in August. If....hypothetically Disney opens by that date will we.....coming from New Jersey, be allowed in the state and to our resort? I'm under the impression that if I were to come to Florida tomorrow I'd need to quarantine for 2 weeks. Florida whatcha think?

I’m having the same issue. I’m from NY, but I’d be flying out of NJ. Won’t be able to go if we have to quarantine for two weeks. Hoping that changes by August.

Its my understanding under the current circumstances that you would be allowed in the state and to your resort, but would have to remain in your room for 2 weeks. I haven't been following how its being enforced, but its not something I'd want to risk if its still in place. I believe the order is supposed to be lifted when the state of emergency is lifted, whenever that will be.

From what I've read, they've been telling people they have to self-quarantine, but it's on the "honor" system and they aren't actually tracking people. I would speculate that if FL becomes comfortable enough to re-open WDW and the other theme parks to guests other than FL residents, this regulation will not be in place anymore. I'm in CT so we got "banned" too!

We are all here trying to speculate and it’s so hard to come up with answers. Florida is so set on opening NOW it could backfire on them and set them back. I’m from NY also, and we’re booked to go mid August. I expect them to be open by then, of coarse with limited offerings.
The reality is we really don’t know...we have to take it day by day!!

Folks, I shouldn’t even have to warn about this. Political comments are not permitted on the DIS and are subject to infraction points. Please keep politics out of the discussion.

And please keep the thread on topic. This board is for discussion of Disney’s resorts at WDW. Speculation on when resorts will reopen is fine. General coronavirus-related discussion, such as what’s happening in your state or other states, belongs on the Community board.

Here is the order in case someone has not heard it on the news. https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/orders/2020/EO_20-82.pdf

I am from Fl ( some of us are actually born here) and the order does not state it's an honor system. Will have to wait and see when it will be lifted. Until then I hope it's followed for the safety of all of us in Fl.

I didn't mean to imply that it was stated in the order that it was on the honor system. From what I have been reading, people entering were told they had to quarantine, but FL does not have the labor capacity to actually track if people are adhering to the order. I apologize if it sounded as if I was trying to encourage people to break the order. My in-laws live in NY, but have a small house in VT where there is also an order that people coming from NY must quarantine. They decided they would rather be in their VT house, so drove up there weeks ago and haven't left their property since - long after their quarantine ended. For the safety of others and ourselves, we wouldn't dream of not adhering to local/state orders for quarantining and will not come to FL until that order is lifted.

I feel like if Disney were to reopen, that means FL is allowing guests from other states. So many people visit from the tri-state area. Just my opinion..obviously no way to know for sure until it happens.

I don't know ...FWIW..this is a blurb from the Disney Food Blog. Florida Task Force Examines Gradual Reopening of Disney World

"According to mynews13, the steps being considered will factor in a potential timetable for re-opening, with the consideration for a “gradual” reopening for state attractions. This may include a phased reopening for “[Florida] State residents, then national and international visitors.”

I think by August it will be lifted, if it hasn't been...yes you will need to quarantine. I believe someone posted that they contact you every few days to ensure you are quarantined. Obviously no one knows for sure how this is all going to happen as far as reopening....if they do it to a limited capacity though, with limited experiences etc, maybe that is to discourage non residents from coming ( as in who wants to spend that kind of $ for a severely limited experience.) Locals are much more likely to not care, maybe by offering limited experience opening in June or July they can then open to a larger crowd by August. I hope all goes well for you and your trip. Stay safe and healthy

Does anyone know the percentage of visitors/revenue that comes from different streams? Fla residents vs out of state vs walk ups vs DVC etc? I can’t really see them going through the trouble and expense of opening to cut off park admission to any segment of their clients. I also can’t see limiting the experiences to a degree where people will cancel in droves once word gets out about those limitations. I don’t think I could spend the money/time if the trip was going to be a hassle.

I don't know exact percentages, but I remember reading after 9/11 that Disneyland tends to get more day guests and local visitors (CA and neighboring states), and a much bigger portion of WDW's guests are fly-ins, from all over the country and all over the world.
