Hypothetical question re: developers points

We purchased 180 pts in July & took the dev. points. We have 4 nights booked @ HHI for early June 05 & were planning on using the remainder for a studio @ BW the very end of Sept. 05 - points must be used by 9/30/05. Now, let's just say that a hurricane comes through next year during that time & we have to cancel. Since these are developers points & cannot be banked, would we just lose these points or do you think DVC would make an exception & extend the expiration of these points or allow them to be banked. Just curious.

All we can really do is speculate. My guess is that they would treat such a situation in a similar manner to the way they treated this year's hurricane cancellations.

I think you will be fine at your HHI trip in June. I have never been shut out of HHI because of a 'cane. I was there during Ivan and the weather was great. Someone else is there right now and they said weather was great. I would not worry.

OBTW, I live in Greensboro, and as you see on my count down timer, I will see you at the pool

Well, I'm not worried about the HH trip. I'm worried about the trip we're planning for the end os 9/05 to WDW. IF something were to happen, would they extend the developers points expiration or would I just lose them? They must be used by 9/30/05 & we were planning on using the remaining dev. points the last week of Sept. next year.

The chances of your vacation plans being affected by a hurricane are pretty small, this years events not withstanding. And even if they are impacted, DVC is pretty good about making exceptions for exceptional circumstances. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
