We call them water bottles in Florida as well.

Hydoflask is a brand name like Thermos or Kleenex or Xerox.

We feel Hydroflask is a superior product for the simple fact that it works better than other products.

Also, for every Hydoflask you purchase, they will donate 5% of the purchase price to the charity of your choice. As we are always trying to raise money for Give Kids The World, we think this is pretty cool.

As we think this is a great product and a great company, the DIS has branded a Hydroflask with our logo and they are for sale in our Port Canaveral Welcome Center.

Please note that we were not approached by Hydoflask.

One of our listeners sent us a couple and we realized that they are far superior to any other type of water bottle...so we approached Hydroflask. We love being able to share this type of info with our listeners and we love it when they share info with us. We're all looking for the "best" in any category.

So...to address your comment...yup....they are more expensive than most water bottles, but you get what you pay for!

They are made of two walls of metal and do not sweat.

I think everyone here has tried the ice test.

Put cold water and ice in a Hydroflask and leave it for 24 hours.

You will go back one day later and still have ice water.

People have left them in hot cars and had the same result.

Most folks find that you get 24 (approximately) hours of cold and 12 (approximately) hours of hot.

They out perform anything I have ever tried.

As they are metal, they will dent and ding if abused. I have dropped one and the bottom has a small ding, but it has not affected performance.

Putting them in a bag with other things can scratch the paint but that doesnt affect performance either. It's just cosmetic.

They come in a variety of sizes and with a variety of "mouth" or opening sizes as well.

I have several with everything from 12 ounces to the 48 or 64 ounce Growler and love them all.

I am very frugal (some say cheap) but I purchased the hydroflask after hearing the rave reviews from the Disboards and I haven't regretted it at all. It is the best 'water bottle' EVER.

We travel across our state (for work) on a regular basis and I always start with a filled up Hydroflask, then switch to regular bottled water (I drink constantly when I'm driving)....water!

I plan on ordering another Hydroflask to keep in our Owners Locker for use at WDW!!

Last summer we bought 2 for our DS9 for his lunch box. He loves them and plans to use them again this year for school. They have been dropped and taken lots of abuse. They have dents and dings, but still get the job done. DS generally takes water or juice, so every evening we rinse with hot water and let them dry.

It depends on how big your 11 year old is, if she will fit inside or not...

I bought one two yrs ago after hearing about them on the podcast and it is one purchase I don't EVER regret!!! Last year when Good Morning America ran their Friday sale items, Hydroflask ended up being one of them and I jumped on the sale and bought 5 more. I use my original one for bringing in hot coffee into work in the winter and iced coffee in the summer. Now with my smaller ones (12 oz), I bring in milk to work for my cereal in the morning, rinse it out and use it for water in the afternoon. I took it to WDW in Feb with ice in the morning (it was around 80 degrees that day), and I still had ice in it when DBFF and I left MK at 10pm that night.

One piece of advise is to get the sport caps. Having them on your Hydroflask saves you from spilling your drink all over you if you are in a car on a bumpy road.

Really? I have several, and I don't notice anything out of the normal at all. It's just a smooth surface.

Have you contacted them? It sounds like you might have a defective bottle.

I have one (blue) that is also textured. My daughter's pink one is also. To my knowledge, only the white powder coat model and the stainless steel do not have the texture.

I personally like the texture.
