I'M WAS LOOKING INTO PURCHASING A NEW BACKPACK TO REPLACE A SMALLER ONE THAT I HAVE. I WAS IN WALMART YESTURDAY AND THEY SELL A BACKPACK THAT IS A TWO LITER SYSTEM. THE BACKPACK IS MADE BY OUTDOOR PRODUCTS. IT WAS SELLING FOR $29.99. BEFORE I GO I'M GOING TO PICK ONE OF THESE UP, UNLESS I OPT FOR A LARGE BACKPACK SYSTEM. I'M NO EXPERT BUT THE PACK LOOKS LIKE IT WILL DO THE JOB.
I mostly use it for hiking, but I LOVE my camelback M.U.L.E. I am not sure how many liters it is, but Camelbacks come in different sizes. I love mine to pieces...it is one of the most comfortable backpacks I have ever had on. Even full, at times, I barely even knew I had on a backpack at all, and that's with hiking miles and miles in the Smokey Mountains.

Just be CAREFUL to empty these out/clean them as best you can - I have a friend that nearly died because he drank the water that had been in it for a while (he doesn't remember exactly how many days) over a very hot period - the bacteria grew wild in there, and he ingested it all, and was hospitalized for a very long time...just something to be aware of, as I had never thought of that possibility. =(
I HIGHLY SUGGEST JANSPORT.. they are a very good name in Bags. I opted for one of the smaller bags. I believe it hols a litre and a half..... It litterally feels like nothing. I brought this bag to disney when we went last January. I didn't put water in it but i put a sweat shirt incase it got cold. It felt like there was nothing on my back. I never noticed it, i have NO idea how they distribute the wieght. I even thought I forgot it a few times.... but it was on my back haha. This is mjy second Hydrating back. My first one was a junky one. The zipper broke after 4 months. Oh and Jansport's Plastic pag thing is Nalgene (which for those of you that aren't in college, they make "water bottles" that pretty much everyone uses at the gym)
Isn't is just as easy to find a drinking fountain or get a bottle of water and dispose of it when your finished rather than haul around a backpack? It certainly seems like it would be safer bacteria-wise. It's not like you're in the middle of the outback without water readily available.
These Backpacks can be anwhere from Just a TINY! little pag that carries just water to a Regular size backpack. Mine is about half the size of a regular backpack, it has three pockets one front pocket (size of an LLBEAN front) Middle fits a rolled up sweatshirt and that is about it. and the third fits the water sac which can easibly be removed for more storage... Actually i found a picture of it... but i am not sure how to get it up here http://www.jansport.com/productdetail.php?tid=7&cid=36&pid=TL34
That is my bag... IT IS AMAZING. PS I don't work for Jansport or anything I am just really impressed by this back
PPS. I am not sure how these do in the heat. Probably would have to stop at some point and get some ice from a vendor. .... Much better than buying 2.00 bottles of water and much better than the septic water at the bubblers
EDIT Bubbler or Bubblah is a MA. word for Water Fountain for those of you who didn't know
