Has anyone stayed here or know someone who has and can give a review?
I am looking for a family friendly resort that is a little more upscale and this looks like it might fit....
I am going with DH while he is on a business trip with my DD5.
I know it will be HOT, so looking for cool ways to have fun.

Any other suggestions of family friendly resorts?
I would apppreciate any suggestions!
Thank you!

Hyatt Regency Scottsdale is a great resort! Their pool area is very beach-like with sand and they have a great water slide. I've only stayed there one night when my DS was around 10 and he didn't want to leave the pool area. There are a few photos of the pool on the Hyatt website.

I don't know how old your kids are but the restaurants are not very kid friendly and are expensive, even for breakfast. If you have a car, you can drive down the street (less than a mile) to the Paradise Bakery and Cafe, which is wonderful (Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is there also). The hotel is located in a business and upscale residential area and there isn't really anything within walking distance (at least in the summer).

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try to answer them.

I never stayed at the Hyatt Scottsdale but I have heard from people that have stayed there that it is an awesome place. We go to Phoenix at least twice a year and have stayed at various places. Two other places you may want to check out are the the JW Marriott Desert Ridge and the Kierland Westin Resort & Spa. Both resorts have really great swimming pools with lazy rivers, etc. I also believe that the Westin has what is called Kids Club and they have various activities for children at a certain age. My kids were too young to participate when we went though.

Thank you both!
My DH just booked the Hyatt with good summer rates with a 3rd night free...
The Westin looked great too!
Thank you so much about the Paradise Bakery tip!
It looks great. We will have a rental car, so going off property will be no problem and probably a better bet than staying at the hotel for each meal.
I appreciate your feedback! :)

minniebeth...one restaurant you might want to try just to say you've been in Pinnacle Peak and Patio. We went once and if you like steak, ribs, etc, you'll love it. The one thing about it is that if you are wearing a tie, they will cut it off and hang it. I saw this on the Travel Channel and we just had to try it. Its expensive but good. If you go, I suggest you sit outside.

Thanks! Sounds really cool...I mean awesome, AZ is nothing like cool right now, right?!

I agree about going to Pinnacle Peak for dinner (and its their 50th anniversary). Check out their website at www.pppatio.com. I was also going to suggest a great pizza place that is close to your hotel called Oregano's. We took some friends of mine there in March and got a medium pizza (serves 4-5), 3 dinner salads, a wonderful pizza cookie (large chocolate chip cookie with ice cream) and unlimited soda for $32. That was 3 women and one teen boy! Check out their website at www.oreganos.com. If you do go, try to get there before 5pm. It is not unusual to have 90 minutes waits, any night of the week, if you are not there by 5. When we want to order pizza for work from there, we have to order it a day in advance...they are that popular.

If you need any directions or have any questions, please feel free to post them here or send me a pm.
