We stayed at the Hyatt in 2003. The 2 bdrm are the kidsuites, I believe, and that was where we stayed. We got a deal thru Priceline for the room for $40/night and upgraded for an extra $25/night for the kidsuite. Really nice room with a microwave and fridge. We went to the Buca di Beppo restaurant next door for dinner one night and brought back some leftovers that we were able to reheat for dinner the next night. There's a Target store and mini Walgrens pharmacy adjacent to the hotel so you can pick up bottled water and other snacks. Other restaurants that we noticed within walking distance are an Outback, Red Robin, and Joe's Crab Shack.
We really enjoyed staying there and would stay there again, despite these few cons:
- Small unheated pool...but our kids (then 8 and 4) had fun in it anyways and ended up getting out of it faster without much coaxing.
- Parking fee was $14/day...not a big deal for us because we didn't rent a car but could be a consideration for you.
- You cannot walk to DL and CA parks from this hotel, too far...you have to take the shuttle that services other hotels in the area. It was free when we took it, but I don't know if it still is. On the up-side, the shuttle was very reliable.
- We were initially give a corner 2 bdrm kidsuite, which is significantly smaller than the the others. Luckily (or unluckily) we discovered an ant problem in this room, and they moved us to another kidsuite that was not a corner one. And it was WAYYYY bigger.
- Expensive hotel restaurant...we ate breakfasts there only for a quick escape to the parks in the morning. We ate only 1 dinner there on the night we arrived, simply because we were tired and the kids were hungry... Food was good and of good quality, just bloody expensive.
Hope this helps. Overall, our experience there was fantastic. The service was top-notch. And the cons just weren't important to us to dissuade us from staying there again.
