Hello-

My husband and I are traveling in May with our 15 month old son. We are arriving at MCO late friday night- this is okay with us due to the time differance this will still seen early.

So... Should we stay at the airport Hyatt and use Happy Limo
or rent Avis and stay at the Radisson near the port as others have done.

A little nervous about the logistics of the Avis/radisson option but like the idea of a late start.

By the way, we are doing the 7 day magic and staying at the Polynesian for another 9 days.

Please tell me about your experiance and explain the avis Radisson option.

Thanks in advance

Although I haven't stayed at either resort I can say I was amazed at the Hyatt. We just got back from the Wonder 3 day , and Wed night when we got into the airport (9:45 pm) we had wished we could stay at the Hyatt. Some of the rooms face into the terminal and they looked very inviting after a 6 hr flight. Even though it was technically 6:45 at home we were still exhausted after flying all day and the convienience of a hotel like that would have been great.

We stayed at the Hyatt last year before our Oct 7 day magic. It is really really nice. We used the disney transfer bus which was nice. But I am sure arriving in a limo would be much much nicer.
We had an early flight into MCO and got to enjoy walking around the airport shops and also got to enjoy the hyatt infinity edge pool. Have a great trip.

We stayed at the Hyatt last January, and found this very easy, and also no hassle as far as catching the disney transfers. I think the cost was like 129 after taxes and all.

We do have reservations for next January to stay at the Radisson. I got a rate of 79 for the night, and we are going to get a rental car since we get there in the late afternoon. Avis has a location at the Radisson, so that should work fine. Price the cost of the limo, or what ever transportation, and see if it is worth it to stay at the Radisson. Also the Radisson has a reference code of Fall right now i believe, and you can get your room for $59 for the night.

So, are you saying that you can catch the DCL Bus at the airport if you stay at the Hyatt? Is the Hyatt connected right to the airport, or do you have to take a shuttle to it?

Does anyone have a weblink to this Hyatt's website?
Thanks!
Debra

Yes, the Hyatt is directly in the terminal. Very convenient. We stayed there in May 2001 when we went on the Wonder. It is incredibly nice to get off a long flight, grab your luggage and walk up the stairs to the checkin desk. Plus it is fun to "people watch" from your balcony. (ours overlooked the terminal). Noise was never a problem either. You catch the DCL bus directly from the Hyatt. They have you meet in the lounge and then take you downstairs near baggage claim "A", I think...then you hop the bus to the port. They also pick up all your luggage in the morning so you don't have to hassle with it.
Check out Dave's site for a link to the Hyatt (under mco area lodging) www.dcltribute.com

Here's another vote for the Hyatt. We stayed there pre-cruise in July and found it incredibly convenient. Our kids enjoyed the pool and workout room while we liked the bar and restaurant. The rooms were very comfortable and getting on the Disney busses the next morning was no problem at all.

Though we've never stayed at the Radisson, I'd guess that staying at the Hyatt would be much easier than travelling to the Radisson at night and then getting a shuttle to the port the next morning. Less hassles with luggage, too!

Alrighty then.....

Thanks for all of the input.

I think we'll stick with the Hyatt. Unless anyone else wants to try to convince me otherwise?

Now, how do I get a great rate?

Hmmmmmmmm

That's a really good question. The place looks great, but...just checked pricing and availability for 6 of us. Two rooms makes it a little pricey.

If you'll need two rooms, ask about their "family" rate. I can't remember the rate we got (cause I didn't pay the bill!), but our second, connecting room was 1/2 price, because we (officially) had only kids in that room. I think they also offer AAA and AARP discounts...

If you stay at the Hyatt and use the Disney transfers, do you have a choice as to what time you take their bus to the port? We are not in a hurry to get there, and would enjoy time for a swim and a leisurely breakfast at the Hyatt.
