We spent thre nights there before moving over to Disney. I called (I joined the club I was told about on this board) in advance, and asked for non smoking, courtyard, recently refurbished, king room., first floor. Got all but first floor..and we actually were jsut as happy (16 stairs..no elevators). Check in was fast and smooth..door opened upon arrival by bellhop. Room was very clean (except for very bottom of shower curtain). Housekeeping was great, and the room was a very nice room. Bigger than All Stars or Por. Loved having the comfortable chair and ottoman to read in. Loved having the large table, which is equipped for computer. Loved sitting on the balcony in the morning, while the coffee brewed (they provided the pot and coffee) enjoying the quiet (unlike allstar music this goaround).
Parking lot is a bit discouraging..but it might have been because of a tow truck convention, and all bought their tow trucks with them. It was very quiet (not like the all stars..where I will never get a poolside preferred room again..and this one was a free upgrade..OMG was it noisy..screaming kids til about 1 in the morning.), but once inside either the room or couryard, it was so peaceful.
For $34 it was really a real bargain...haven't stayed outside of Disney in a very long time..swore I never would again..but now I would in a heart beat. Loved all the cheap good choices for food as well, so near to the hotel. Pool and jacuzzi were both very nice, and very uncrowded. Got a phone call on the second day asking if everything was alright, and did we need anything. Nice touch. 10 minutes from opening the car door to ticket and transportation. Well worth it and would stay again...even for double the cost

I have stayed their back in 1998. It was a good hotel for what we paid which was about $40.00 per night though Priceline. I was somewhat disapointed that is was a Hyatt and how dated the hotel was. I expected more from Hyatt and felt it was in need of a remodel. But for the money we spent we could not have asked for better. I would still have had more fun at a Disney Hotel since the bus service there was not 100 percent reliable. We tried it once and were glad that we rented a car because we used the car the rest of the week. It's a an very good hotel if you can get it for an excellent value like we did.

Thanks for this report on the Hyatt, DMRick! I've been nervous about trying Priceline for a 3* in the WDW area because I was worried about getting the Hyatt based on other not-so-favorable reviews. It's nice to see a good review...and this is perhaps a good incentive to try Priceline now. The prices certainly can't be beat! :D

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Hyatt, DMRick! Did you bring the grands? We have used priceline several times and had some amazing deals too.

We asked for and got a refurbished room. It looks to me like a good part of it has been refurbished. It certainly looks nice in the lobby.

Did you bring the grands?

Not this trip..although one of them begged a lot to go..their Mom's aren't up to let them go that far from home yet without them..or it may be they just like to join us on the FL trips (the Moms) LOL!

We stayed at POR Riverside last time we brought a couple of grands and they made us visit the All Stars..their preferred hotel. I
