Hyatt at the airport--can the rooms sleep 5?

I didn't know exactly where to put this thread--sorry if it needs to be moved, but this is where I've seen the most chatter about the Hyatt at the airport, and it's semi related to transportation as the answer to this question hinges on which flights I pick.

Anyway, we are considering a 7:45 a.m. flight home, so I think it would make more sense for us to take ME to the airport the night before and sleep in the Hyatt than to get up in the middle of the night and take ME to the airport. When I went to check pricing on the Hyatt rooms, it said that 2 adults and 3 children would exceed the room capacity. Does anyone know if this is strictly enforced? Do they have an option for a rollaway? If not, is there any hotel near the airport that is fairly inexpensive and can sleep 5?

Also, if you go with a room at the Hyatt, how early do you need to get up and get out of the hotel room to get to your flight? Is it still 2 hours, or no? I'm just trying to imagine how cooperative my kids are going to be with getting up at 5ish in the morning...

Having stayed there once, I can say the rooms are very comfortable, but not really all that large. If the website says 5 is too many, I wouldn't risk trying to get away with getting 5 in there. It's a code issue for Hyatt. I don't know if they do like Disney and have a cutoff of a certain age where it's okay to have a small child in there as a 5th person.

Also, I've never used ME, but I would definitely also check to make sure it's okay to use it on a date other than that on which your return flight is scheduled. It may be, but I think it's worth confirming.

In MCO, I think if you left a Hyatt room 1.75 hour before your flight, you'd be fine with security, etc. a) The Hyatt really is not more than a 15-minute walk/ride from any gate and b) security at MCO moves pretty well (compared to other airports I've seen).

I just booked the Hyatt for our pre-cruise hotel in June. We are also traveling with a group of 5. What they were able to do for us was give us a "family" package where we book a regular room with one King Bed and we get the connecting room (with two queens) for a discounted price.

You can also just book a regular two-queen room for 4 and then sleep all 5 in there, but you won't be able to request a roll-away bed since there is not enough room for one. When I called to make the reservation, the person on the phone even told me to just book it as 4 but then asked the ages of the kids and when she found out they were older, suggested the family package. I have read other people stating that they just used a blow up raft with extra bedding for a small child. But since our three are 10, 15 and 15, we decided it was just easier to book two rooms.

It's totally fine. Every WDW resort guest is entitled to one trip from the airport and one trip to the airport, during their reservation. Doesn't matter exactly when during the stay it is.

Thank you! Our 6 year old winds up in our bed in the middle of the night most nights, so as long as the hotel is OK with him sleeping with us (and my other two kids sharing a bed), I think this probably makes the most amount of sense for us.

FWIW, I used to work at a Hyatt (not in FL) and they would not put a rollaway bed in a room with two double beds due to fire codes. I'm sure fire codes differ by city, but Hyatt did strictly enforce occupancy because of this.

There is a reason for occupancy limits and that is the hotel must meet fire codes. Most regular hotel rooms cannot sleep 5 people. You will need to see if you can find a suite or book 2 rooms.

Thanks for the feedback. We're skipping the Hyatt. We found a cheaper early evening flight out of Tampa, so that will enable us to stay on Disney property that night and enjoy most of our departure day in Disney before we need to rent a car (free with my CC points) and head to Tampa. It all worked out without me needing to smuggle in my youngest.

Thanks for the clarification. I could have sworn the customer service agent said queens but it could have been doubles. I was just pleased to find out that we could get the second room at the reduced price so we have plenty of bed space with either double or queen

Wish they were. I shared with DD and DH shared with DS. Room enough, but we were all so tired we slept like rocks anyway. Good enough for one night. Now that the kids are bigger, the discount room may come in handy for our next cruise.
