Hi!!

I hope this is the right place to put a newbie introduction. I have been lurking for ages and finally decided to join up. DD and I are going on our first ever WDW trip in May! I am so excited I can hardly stand myself, and am becoming increasingly obnoxious toward those around me. And it's in MAY. :sad2: I thought this might be a good place to safely let out some of my growing excitement! We have been to DL in California, but those who have been to both tell me there is a world of difference (pun intended). We are going to be staying at the Poly for seven days, which is more or less my dream trip. Glad to be on the boards!

Is it wrong, I wonder, that I am WAY more excited than my 7yo?

:woohoo: Happy planning and :welcome:

I have only been to WDW and I was 49 at the time. My DH has never been at all. We will be joining our daughter and son-n-law and two grandsons 11 & 7 and can't wait to get there. We'll be there real soon.:santa:

Thanks...!

21 Days... wow. I'm vicariously excited for you. Are you busting? What are you going to do first??:goodvibes

welcome. this is such a wonderful place to ask questions and to learn from our fellow friends. Happy planning.

Thanks...!

Yes, I am busting. We do not get to WDW until around 6:30 or so. Will probably relax for the rest of the evening. We are flying in and our DD and family are driving down from New Hampshire. We will all meet up and get ready for the next day. Our first park is Disney Hollywood Studies. Thanks for asking. :thumbsup2

First of all, :welcome:

I can identify with the "obnoxious" feeling. I know my friends are sick and tired of hearing about our upcoming trip, but I'm just so excited I can't hardly stand it! :dance3: :cool1: :rotfl2: :yay: :cheer2: We are surprising our children, so I can't talk about it with them. My husband likes to go to WDW and always has fun while we are there, but he's not as obsessed and crazy about it as me, so he just doesn't get the overwhelming giddy and excitement I'm feeling. We went to DL a couple of years ago and I loved it, but WDW is a whole other experience! You will love it!:thumbsup2

I am so glad I'm not the only one. That must be a killer, not being able to tell your kids... I think I would pop. It's good to be here among fellow crazies-- er, I mean, enthusiasts!:woohoo:

As for the difference between "having a good time but not becoming an insane person" and "becoming an insane person" I'd probably put it down to the difference between folks who like thrill rides and constant entertainment, and the folks who like all that stuff... and are really, truly just a little kid, at heart. I mean, I love that feeling when you walk in the gates (at DL, anyway)... 'wow it really IS the happiest place on earth!'... and I like the big-kid rides, but I don't mind Dumbo either... and I *love* the carousel. I think it's the one time we big kids get the chance to really go nuts and it's socially accetable.

Or something like that.

I think it's wonderful that you are so excited about your upcoming trip. I'm sure you'll have a great time, especially staying at the Poly.

Happy planning! Sending pixie dust your way!

Your title for the post made me smile, as 'Huzzah!' is one of my favourite celebratory remarks.

WELCOME!!!!

PS - It's great that you're more excited than your kid. I know that I get more excited than my parents. They're not the ones screaming when we take our first look at the castle :lmao:
