Last week my 40 year old husband was electrocuted, fell off of an 8ft ladder & broke his ankle. We went to see an orthopedic specialist who explained, after looking at the x-rays, that my husband has a bone that chipped off of his ankle. He prescribed pain medication but that does not work all of the time. We are hoping some of you may have some suggestions with home remedies to help with his severe pain & to control the swelling. He has been elevating his leg since the accident, icing it and staying off of it. It hurts so bad that he cannot put any pressure on it. He uses his crutches to get around in the house. All he could do is sit or lay around all day. One thing that happens when he does get up is his leg starts to turn a funny blue color and he has alot of pain running down the entire leg. This happens after keeping his leg elevated for several hours & by stading up the blood begins to flow to the leg. Could this make it hurt so bad?
Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated.
