I am new to this website and this is my first post!!!

My husband and I are going to Disney world for his first trip and my second on 9/20/08 for six nights. He is not what you would call a Disney fanatic as a mater of fact he hasn't seen many disney movies (watched Peter Pan for the fist time last week):scared1:

He wants to be able to relax as much as possible....any suggestions to have a slow paced trip.

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge!!!:cool1:

First, welcome! At the time of my first Disney visit I was no big Disney fan, didn't care for the movies and cartoons and only went 'for the sake of the kids' on a trip which was a gift to us from my mother. On the way across the lagoon on the ferry that first morning, it became obvious that we were not just going to another amusement park, we were entering another world. I've been a WDW fan since that moment, maybe your DH will have a similar experience.

As to your question, I'd advise getting to a park at rope drop, but not the early EMH park, know the rides and attractions you want to do that day, use FP, then take a pool break when crowds get too crazy. I've never been there the dates you're going, but I suspect crowds won't be too bad. Whatever you do, get to PI before it closes, 9/26 I think, and catch a few Comedy Warehouse shows and spend serious time in the Adventurer's Club. It's a bitter disapointment to me that we'll never experience these two clubs again, don't miss out, especially the AC.

I have heard of the Adventurer's Club before and I do want to make it over to that. What is it exactly??? A comedy club???

Picture a private club for explorers and world travelers, a place where they display their trophies and interesting discoveries. It's the late 1930s and you're there to be sworn in as honorary members. You don't see the show, you're in it. Go to the lower lounge level after checking out the artifacts on display upstairs. Have a drink, if so inclined, there's no obligation to buy anything. The members will mill around, interacting with the visitors. There are short, humorous presentations in the Mask Room and Trophy Room, check them out. There are more involved shows in the Library, equally funny, be sure to catch at least one of these before deciding if you like the AC or not. Give it at least 45 mins. Take a camera, the club interior itself in indescribable. Enjoy!

I would make a list of what you don't want to miss and plan your days. You won't be able to do everything in 6 or 7 days especially if you want to relax. It's nice to go back to your resort and take a swim or a nap or just watch the animals in the afternoon. Make sure you take some time in the mornings to see the animals have their breakfast. We always plan our sit down dinners in advance too. Are you doing the dining plan?
