What to request, what are the best rates you've gotton, do you really see the animals, is it worth the extra prices??? On and on...We usually stay in Ft. Wilderness but this year my mom is taking the kids for spring break to Key West and my DH and I thought, "what the hey"..we know we would appreciate the luxury and since we will be there for two weeks in Jan with kids at the campground, we thought it wouldn't be so important to go on all of the rides. Anyone else do this?? Any suggestion greatly appreciated!!

Well all I can really say is that WDW is a completely different place without the kids! We go every year, and every other year we go without the kids. WE LOVE THESE TRIPS!! We can eat at the nicer full service restaurants, stay out late, take naps if we want, go to Pleasure Island, etc. You will really enjoy it, even if you do get a pang of guilt (these will last about 3 seconds) when you think about how much your kids would love this or that, but you will be able to enjoy things you never got to with the kids, and get to be kids again yourselves!

As far as AKL, yes, you do see some animals from the Savannah view rooms, but all we saw from ours was the giraffes. They were VERY close though so it was neat. We went the first week of Dec (off season) and the restaurants were packed. One night we even tried to go get a drink in the bar, and there wasn't a single seat for us to sit down. This resort is a little further away to most of the things on property, but it is very nice. The rooms are darker than most of the resorts, but this makes it more relaxing and romantic feeling. Since you will be going during Spring Break time (peak season) try to get a AAA discount or even look into an AP, or pray for codes to save on cost. Just be prepared for the resort itself to be pretty busy at all times, and you will have a wonderful time!
